Packers GM Ted Thompson.
A source provided ALLGBP.com the below speech that was rejected by Ted Thompson for Wednesday’s Packers shareholder meeting. Unfortunately, Thompson decided to not use this speech, and just wasted everyone’s time like he’s done at every other shareholder meeting. Hopefully Ted changes his mind and uses a speech like this next year.
“Before I get started...
Second chances are hard to come by in life and in the game of football. To be successful, one must make the most of any opportunity. When Johnny Jolly arrived in Green Bay, it looked like he was going to make it big. With professional quickness and strength, Jolly seized his opportunity and made it onto the roster and into the starting lineup. With his skills, determination, and...
Jones will sign a 4 year deal worth a reported $7.7 million this week and report on time to training camp
The Green Bay Packers and first round draft pick Datone Jones agreed to a four year contract on Wednesday. This was reported by Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The deal is expected to be signed on Thursday and with that, the Packers now have all of their...
Training Camp begins with a lot of optimism and apprehension. Optimism in the fact that the season has begun once again and the Packers are looking to make another run at a Super Bowl Championship. The apprehension comes from the bad news that happens at seemingly every team’s training camp. A player has either come in out of shape and failed his physical, or they have suffered...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The popularity of the NFL is unquestioned across the United States. But for high-ranking executives like Green Bay Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy, there is significant concern about how much longer that can last if player safety isn't continually addressed.
Murphy told a crowd of 13,000 people at Lambeau Field during the franchise's annual shareholders...

Packers and first-round draft pick Datone Jones have yet to come to terms on a contract
As of Wednesday morning, 19 of the 32 first-round draft picks from April have signed contracts. Of the 13 unsigned rookies, a whopping 6 fall between picks 22 and 29 – including Green Bay’s Datone Jones at 26. And that comes as absolutely no surprise. People in the know saw this coming for...
Mike Flanagan overcame a serious leg injury to start 82 games for Green Bay
Many people will write Derek Sherrod off should his surgically-repaired right leg keep him from taking part in training camp for a second consecutive summer – a distinct possibility considering the massive offensive lineman wasn’t medically cleared for either the minicamps in May or the OTAs in June. But...
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy knows a season can go down the tubes in training camp.
It only takes one injury to a key player to set a team back and the coach wants to avoid that scenario.
It’s fairly impossible to get a team ready for the regular season without putting them through the grinder, but there are ways to limit the chances of disaster by being proactive...
The Green Bay Packers completed negotiations with their draft class Wednesday when first-round pick Datone Jones agreed to terms on a contract.
The Packers had completed negotiations and signed their other 10 draft picks weeks ago leaving only Jones left to be done. Since a rookie wage scale was introduced two years ago with the new collective bargaining agreement holdouts have...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Datone Jones is officially all signed up to begin his NFL career, finalizing his rookie contract with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday.
Jones, the 26th overall pick in the 2013 draft, will receive a four-year contract that is worth 7.71 million over four years, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. FOX Sports was the first to report the signing.
The Green Bay Packers have signed top draft pick defensive end Datone Jones and safety Ryan McMahon on Thursday.
Jones was selected 26th overall in April out of UCLA, where he made a career-high 62 tackles (45 solo), including 19 tackles for loss, and a career-best 6 1/2 sacks in 2012. He has said the defense run by the Packers is similar to what he played in at UCLA.
