In Chicago Kostka won the position battle for one of the last remaining d-man spots, forcing Chicago to put Stanton on waivers.
Stanton is 6’2 196. He’s 24 and had 3 goals and 22 assist last year in Rockford of the AHL. He also chimed in with 126 PIM’s. In March 2010, the Blackhawks signed Stanton to a three-year entry-level contract.
Stanton’s first professional goal was scored in a 4-3 Rockford IceHogs loss on February 23, 2011 against the Chicago Wolves. (Yes the Canucks farm team at the time)

Luongo’s new mask features a much simpler, classic design that mimics the...

We all knew that there had to be a few roster cuts or trades on the horizon and late last night, we got our first moves as the Hurricanes dealt Jeremy Welsh and Zac Dalpe to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Kellan Tochkin and a fourth round pick in this year's draft. My initial reaction to this was shock because the Canes just sent two roster players to Vancouver...

So much for the start of a golden youth movement on the Vancouver Canucks who were suddenly supposed to be the land of opportunity for talented prospects under the patient and nurturing reign of new head coach John Tortorella.
Hunter Shinkaruk Bo Horvat and Brendan Gaunce have all been returned to their junior teams and Nicklas Jensen and Frankie Corrado are back in the American...
We get to the final Pacific Division preview opponent for the Los Angeles Kings, and why not save the Vancouver Canucks for last? (It was actually alphabetical order but whatever.)
Not to give away too much of the analysis section, I'm definitely going to go against the popular thought here and say that the Vancouver Canucks are going to really struggle, and potentially miss...
Believe it or not, the puck drops on 2013-14 NHL regular season tonight, with a triple header (Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens, Capitals vs. Blackhawks, Jets vs. Oilers). This season, there will be no shortened schedule, few stretches of condensed games for individual teams, and overall, better quality hockey as players and coaches get back the […]The post The 2013-14 NHL Season: Being...
