PLAYERS: Derek Jeter
TEAMS: New York Yankees
Will the real Philip please stand up. I’m not quite sure if Jeter thought he was actually fooling people by giving an alias or just stole some poor guy’s coffee, but photographers spotted the Yankees shortstop leaving a Greenwich Village Starbucks with a cup boldly marked for someone named Philip. Apparently, this isn’t the first time Jeter has used an alias. It was once reported that injured NY star once checked into a Seattle hotel under the name Johnny Drama. Well…at least Philip is 10 times better than Johnny Drama. That pseudonym is just terrible.

Jeter uses 'Philip' alias for Starbucks order

I can't quite put my finger on it, but this "Philip" character looks familiar. According to the New York Post, Derek Jeter was spotted leaving a Greenwich Village Starbucks with the name "Philip" on the side.  Which means one of three things...the New York Yankees captain is still using a pseudonym when in public (he used to go by "Johnny Drama"...

Derek Jeter utilizes ‘Phillip’ alias for coffee order at Starbucks (photos)

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter may not have taken the field yet along with his teammates as he continues his rehab following his ankle surgery earlier this year, but that does not mean he can gallivant about town without being recognized. That must be why Jeter opted to go with the alias of “Philip” [...]The post Derek Jeter utilizes ‘Phillip’ alias for coffee order...

Does Jeter have a secret name?

Could a grande blonde French vanilla get Yankees star Derek Jeter back to baseball before the All-Star break? Who knows what Jeter's favorite coffee is, or how his rehab from his broken ankle is progressing. There is now photographic evidence, however, that Jeter stopped by Starbucks the other day, and he walked off with a coffee designated for "Philip." Whether Jeter...

Derek Jeter uses phony name 'Philip' to get coffee at Starbucks

Being New York's most recognizable sports celebrity didn't stop Derek Jeter from trying the the old phony name ruse to pick up a cup of coffee at a Starbucks Wednesday afternoon. The Yankee shortstop was spotted yesterday leaving one of the coffee chain’s locations in Greenwich Village with a cup suspiciously marked with the name “Philip,” reports The New York Post...

Derek Jeter Appears to Use Fake Name ‘Philip’ to Get Coffee at Starbucks (Photo)

Could a grande blonde French Vanilla get Derek Jeter back to baseball before the All-Star break? Who knows what Jeter’s favorite coffee is, or how his rehab from his broken ankle is progressing. Did Derek Jeter use the name ‘Philip’ when ordering at Starbucks? (Pictures)

Derek Jeter is a superstar in every sense of the word. If you had to name one athlete from all of New York’s professional sports teams that is the most easily recognizable, Jeter’s name would be at or near the top of the list. Has that popularity resulted in the Yankee captain having to use a fake name when ordering a coffee? According to the NY Post, Jeter was spotted leaving...

Derek Jeter 'Caught' Nabbing Coffee Belonging to 'Phillip' (not really)

In his time off it appears that New York Yankees superstar Derek Jeter likes to troll the local Starbucks for free coffee whenever someone doesn't answer the call when their name is announced. Don't laugh. That crap is expensive (and so damn good). You know I'm just kidding, right? Apparently Jeter thinks that if he goes into Starbucks and says his name...

Phil Hughes mocks Derek Jeter by ordering Starbucks as ‘Sanderson’ (Picture)

Derek Jeter set the internet on fire earlier this week when photos of him holding a Starbucks coffee with the name “Philip” written across the side surfaced. Going incognito may have worked for Jeter while he ordered his coffee, but it didn’t stop the paparazzi from blowing up his spot. On Friday, one of his teammates — who happens to actually be named Philip — returned...

Hannah Davis Loves The Stars & Stripes

Just in time for Memorial Day one of the internet’s new leading ladies hit the beach to show off her love for the stars and stripes. Hannah Davis, best known for being the Genie in DirecTV commercials (and possibly dating Derek Jeter), hit the beach for a new ‘MURICA inspired bikini photoshoot. If you want to see more of Hannah check out her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit page where...

Ocean not all that separates US, European fans

Imagine Derek Jeter leading the New York Yankees off the field because opposing fans were yelling racial slurs and throwing bananas at his team. Or a game between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls halted because of unrelenting race-baiting from the crowd. It's almost unfathomable to a U.S. sports fan, even with the country's long, wrenching and seemingly endless struggle...

Phil Hughes tops Derek Jeter in Starbucks drink war

Remember when the internet was getting a good laugh at Derek Jeter telling the Starbucks Baristas that his name was Philip? Of course, there is a theory that he stole someone else’s drink or that they completely misheard him. Well, based upon the response from Philip Hughes earlier today, it appears that Jeter was trying to pass himself off as his teammate! Probably not. Just as...

Derek Jeter fans learning all about Sheldon Jeter

I'll never understand why people follow certain twitter accounts. Why follow back someone who themselves follow 10s of thousands of people? It's not like they're ever going to read anything you have to say, because following that many people makes their timeline spin like a slot machine. Why follow the vast majority of college athletes who only use Twitter to respond...

Yankee Record to be Set in 2013

The oft-injured Carl Pavano was one of 28 pitchers used by the 2005 Yankees. (Photo: CC Flickr) In the last four years, Yankee fans have enjoyed endless milestones achieved by some of the team’s legendary players.  Derek Jeter broke the all-time franchise hit record in 2009, and then slugged his way to number 3,000 in 2011.  Mariano Rivera passed Trevor Hoffman that same year...
