Bad body language has no place in baseball

The way Tom Hallion describes it, David Price swore at him with his body language in yesterday's game and he responded, verbally. This makes total sense to me.  Lord knows I've seen plenty of bad body language.  Having 3 small kids, it is a daily occurrence.  So, from now on, you know what I'm going to do?  Anytime I catch my kids using bad body language, I'...

Blessed with exquisite control, and a solid arm, he should provide the Cardinals with a decent arm in the bullpen. He was pitching for Triple-A Memphis. It's no secret to Reds fans that Jay Bruce has been struggling at the plate lately. And it appears as if those struggles have caused the Reds outfielder to reach a breaking point on Twitter. The 26-year-old took to the social media site Tuesday night to vent about the heat he has been taking from fans this year. Here is the gist of what he had to say... I appreciate...

The St. Louis Cardinals' bullpen is in sorry shape, and the team is hoping to get closer Jason Motte back at some point this year. The right-hander offered good news yesterday, as he told Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com that he "felt good" after playing catch for the second consecutive day. Motte -- who was diagnosed with a ligament tear in his right elbow earlier this...

In brief: Votto’s socks, Latos’ April, and Hal McCoy’s car

Those socks equal wins for the last two days. (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images)Last game For the second day in a row, Joey Votto wore his socks high, and for the second day in a row, the Reds won. It’s officially their longest road streak of the season. Is showing off his socks what Votto is paid to do? When it equals wins, I think you could argue that it is. Mat Latos was...

Starting here in the month of May, the website is moving toward a hybrid “free content/paid content” system. There will still be daily content that will be free to everyone, but there will also be several features a week that will be behind a subscription wall that will just have small portions be “free for everyone” to see. Hall of Fame writer Hal McCoy's unique story

Hal McCoy is the Cincinnati Reds beat writer for the Dayton Daily News.  He has been honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame and is the longest tenured beat writer in Major League Baseball.  McCoy is also legally blind and can't drive to games on his own.  Earlier this year, McCoy put the equivalent of a Help Wanted Ad on his Dayton Daily News blog because his driver for the...

St. Louis Cardinals beat Cincinnati Reds 2-1 behind solid outing by Jaime Garica

St. Louis Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia came into the 2013 with mixed expectations after he struggled on the road and with injuries throughout 2012. So far, so good for Garcia this season and especially on Tuesday night as the lefty tossed eight solid innings to lift the Cardinals to a 2-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Garcia's eight innings were dominant as he did not surrender...

This Will Do For The Day

I'd like to think I could focus in and write about a big Cardinals win against Reds that re-claimed 1st place in the NL Central.  Can't. Need to watch this all day.
