ST. LOUIS -- Left-hander Tyler Lyons will start Monday against the Reds, Carlos Martinez has returned from the minors to work out of the bullpen and Jake Westbrook has gone on the disabled list because of back stiffness.
Oh yeah, Edward Mujica says the soreness in his back right shoulder is better but not good enough for him to pitch Friday night when the Cardinals play host to the Braves.

-- Lyons was tabbed to start in the opener of the Reds' series because the club "likes where he is right now," manager Mike Matheny said.
Of course, that the Reds' lineup leans heavily towards lefty hitters "definitely plays into" the decision as well, Matheny admitted.
"More important, he's a guy who's been consistent through the season," Matheny said. "We've seen a couple of really nice starts from him. Hopefully, we can get a few more."
