When the new AP and USA Today college basketball polls are released on Monday, there’s a good chance you’ll see the Louisville Cardinals sitting on top of them. With Duke losing to North Carolina State on Saturday, and Michigan falling to Ohio State on Sunday, the Cards would appear to be next in line to sit at number one. Duke could still make a claim for the top spot since they lost with starting forward Ryan Kelly injured and the fact they beat Louisville. And Indiana could also be in the mix too. If the Cards do get the top spot, it would be the first time since the end of the 2008-09 regular season. Personally, I don’t care too much if UofL is ranked number one tomorrow. It’s a nice thing to have that 1 next to the team name, but as we all know, it’s pretty much meaningless in January. Give me that 1 in April and I’ll throw a party.
