Cavaliers-varejao-reacts
Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao will miss at least two more games with a bruised right knee. Varejao has missed four games since hurting his knee on Dec. 18 against Toronto. The Cavs had hoped extra rest would get the NBA's leading rebounder back on the floor, but he's not ready to play. Varejao will sit out Friday's home game against Atlanta and will not travel with the team for Saturday's game in Brooklyn so he can get more treatment. Cavs coach Byron Scott doesn't believe Varejao's injury is more serious than originally diagnosed. He said the area where Varejao was hurt is tender and needs more time to heal. Varejao is averaging 14.4 rebounds for the Cavs, who have won two straight games for the first time this season.

Anderson Varejao: “If I Get Traded, I Get Traded”

Anderson Varejao is one of the most coveted big men in the NBA this season. This isn’t the first time he has heard his name mentioned in trade talks — he averaged a double-double last season and nearly 10 and 10 the previous year — so he isn’t letting himself get sidetracked by an area of the game he cannot impact. “I can’t control it,” he said prior to the Cavaliers...

Celtics have strong interest in Anderson Varejao

Sam Amico via Sulia The Celtics, ranked 29th in rebounding, do have a strong interest in Cavs' Anderson Varejao, but the question is what could Celtics offer that the Cavs would want? (And don't say Jared Sullinger. Cavs didn't have an interest in him on draft night and likely still don't.) That's the trouble with trading Varejao. Teams with a strong interest...

Celtics interested in Varejao… but….

The Celtics rebounding is bad.  Really bad.  So bad that Dennis Rodman could show up tomorrow in his wedding dress and be the best rebounder on the team. The Cavaliers just so happen to have the best rebounder in the league on their roster in Anderson Varejao, and he’s available for the right price. Enter the Celtics…. but don’t get too excited. The Celtics, ranked 29th in...

Drew Gooden says Anderson Varejao has always been this skilled

On July 23, 2004, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Drew Gooden and Anderson Varjeao in a trade with the Orlando Magic for Tony Battie and two second round draft picks. Cleveland Cavaliers: Anderson Varejao, the Prize of the Deadline?

Contenders be on notice, a fantastic player could be had at the trade deadline. Anderson Varejao has been one of the top big men in the Eastern Conference this season.
