8 a.m. ET: Whoever plays will play, and the game will most likely be thrilling and chilling. We can only hope. With Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh’s status all unclear, the Celtics and Heat will face off in Miami in a watered-down version of one of the NBA’s best rivalries. The Heat did not seem to miss a beat Wednesday without their stars, as Ray Allen  came through to lead Miami to a win over the Wizards, but the Celtics have had far less success of late without their mainstays. Not even Garnett and Pierce’s presence could help Boston avoid a loss to the Nets on Wednesday. Whether this turns out to be a star-studded affair or a glorified preseason game, there will be some pride on the line. Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, Shane Battier and others would surely like to prove they can beat another pretty good conference rival without their top players, even if said rival does not have its top players, either. Nets coach P.J. Carlesimo has come around on Jeff Green

Jeff Green has been polarizing player for many Celtics fans. Some love him; love the potential, and the flashes of greatness. Some hate him simply because he was the piece we got back for Perkins, and others can’t stand him, think he’s overrated, not that good etc. Coming out of college he was hearing much of the same stuff, even from the NBA coaching circle. Before last night’s...

Jeff Green Not Expected to Miss Time

After a dunk, Jeff Green landed awkwardly on his left elbow. His injury forced his exit from last night's game against the Miami Heat early in the fourth quarter.   Green explained why his injury initially caused him to grimace in pain and eventually prevented his return to the game: "Any time you hit a nerve, it feels numb down the whole arm," said Green. "And...

Jeff Green Shares Bond With P.J. Carlesimo Despite Tough Love From First NBA Coach

BOSTON — Jeff Green and P.J. Carlesimo were not fast friends. When Green came into the NBA as a rookie out of Georgetown in 2007, he found a coach with a reputation for being tough on players, who had an infamous run-in with a player a decade earlier and who was skeptical of Green’s ability to succeed in the NBA. Yet as Green was going through his rehabilitation from heart surgery...

Jeff Green’s Elbow Injury Underscores Why Celtics Are Smart to Play It Safe As End of Season Nears

Somewhere in the deepest parts of their psyches, the Celtics harbor some distant and dreamy hope of making this postseason one to remember. Sure, they are missing an All-Star point guard and a young forward who never seemed to play like a rookie, and their two best players are closing in on the twilights of their careers. The Celtics have done just enough to give themselves hope...

Lost in the shuffle was Jeff Green and his elbow injury! Turns out he's going to be A OK. Jeff Green was injured after falling on his elbow after a dunk, he later left the game and didn't return. Still, Green brushed...

Recap: Could’ve been a lot worse

Laugh at me all you want, but I think tonight could’ve been much worse. Headed into this game, without KG & Pierce, Celtics fans thought that things might get really ugly. Well, despite a Heat 2nd Q for the ages, the C’s actually gave Miami a run for their money tonight. However. the Heat win 109-101. Boston came out swinging early, and behind a hot start from Jeff Green...
