Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 94-75 win over the Pacers Game Recap ESPN Boxscore Grades: Kevin Garnett: KG bounced back from a slightly poor game by dominating an overmatched Pacers frontcourt. He put up a typical 36-year old Garnett statline: 18 points on 50% shooting, with 7 rebounds and excellent defense. You cannot ask for much more. Also he set the tone physically, and intimidated the Pacers all night. His ejection was unfair, the call should have been a flagrant 1 at most. I feel for the sorrow he must have felt due to missing Gino-time. A- Brandon Bass: He was inserted back into the starting lineup, but struggled in the early going. He did not shoot a high percentage, and made some boneheaded decisions while turning the ball over a little too much. But he also rebounded well, and played good defense. While he still does not look like the Bass of last year, this was a step in the right direction. B+ Paul Pierce: A good Paul Pierce night. He showed off the all-aro...

The assist, more than any other statistic in sports besides the lacrosse assist and the baseball error, is most affected by how the scorer...

Celtics 94, Pacers 75: Boston goes “back to training camp”

Ahh, feels good to finally exhale right?  As some of the worst basketball in the Garnett era was played over the last four games, the Celtics were able to get back to their roots of putting on the hard hat and grinding out the win.  There was a Gino sighting tonight, although Garnett was unfortunately not around to see it.I think Kevin Garnett summarized Boston’s attitude with...

Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley Lead Rousing Win Over Pacers That Leaves Celtics Still Grasping for Consistency

BOSTON — The Celtics started Friday’s game like every other since their post-Christmas hangover began. They missed makeable shots, fired up 3-pointers early in the shot clock and looked all-around lost on offense. A funny thing happened when they looked up at the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter, though. Despite shooting 29 percent from the field and committing as many...

The Celtics we saw last night could win the NBA title, Version 2.0

Click here to read the original version from yesterday.  In the first half last night the Celtics played exactly as you might expect for a team on the road against a quality opponent on night two of a back to back, and they trailed the Hawks by 15 at the break.  But it the second half Boston exhibited the same defensive intensity we saw the day before against the Pacers. After...
