UCF Athletics Basketball purists snobs often say that the fundamentals have disappeared from the game.  Bounce passes and mid-range jumpers have been replaced with a lack of passing and a game full of three-pointers and dunks.  To them, today’s game has too much of a playground element. The University of Central Florida gave their floor in the CFE Arena a facelift and played off the stigma with a new design.  The Knights will play their home games on a blacktop floor. It’s far from traditional, but I dig it.  It will definitely bring exposure to the UCF program and you can bet that they will find their way onto television more.  It’s all about the branding these days in college athletics.  And when you flip on a game and see the blacktop, you’ll know you’re looking at Central Florida.
