Call me crazy, but I don’t think Sproles wanted the hug.
Wow! That was playoff baseball.
A little over halfway into Game 2 of the ALCS and the Red Sox bubble was nearly deflated. Clay Buchholz had just given up four runs to make the score 5-0. “Stabbed by Foulke”, “Bergeron! Bergeron!”, and now “Unicorns! Show ponies! Where’s the beef?!”
Iconic plays are often accompanied by the iconic voices that make the call of the play. While Sunday’s Patriots game wasn’t a Super Bowl, or even a playoff game, it was a heck of a comeback in which Tom Brady orchestrated one of his trademark game-winning...

Then something funny happened. The Saints went conservative, settling for a field goal that put them ahead of the Patriots by a score...
The New England Patriots announced Wednesday that they have placed linebacker Jerod Mayo on injured reserve and re-signed defensive tackle Andre Neblett to the 53-man roster. Mayo underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle Tuesday. He suffered his injury in the fourth quarter of the Patriots’ 30-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints last Sunday. Mayo had 55 combined tackles...
Did New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder hold New Orleans Saints' Junior Galette during Tom Brady's winning touchdown pass?
After walking David Ortiz to lead off the second inning Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander tied a postseason record by striking out the next six batters he faced. It could have been seven straight had Shane Victorino not popped up to foul territory in a 1-1 count to leadoff the fourth.
The all-time record for most consecutive strikeouts in a regular-season game is 10 held by Hall...
The Boston Red Sox rallied with four runs in the eighth inning and one more in the ninth to best the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series 6-5.
David Ortiz launched a grand slam in eight to tie the game 5-5 and Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled to left, to score Jonny Gomes for the walkout victory in the ninth. It was Ortiz’s third home run of this postseason...
The Boston Red Sox pulled off an amazing comeback against the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the ALCS on Sunday night, thanks in large part to David Ortiz’s grand slam to tie the game in the 8th inning. Boston also may have gotten a little help from the umpires. Before he slashed a game-winning […]
