With last night’s clutch, come-from-behind victories for the Patriots and Red Sox, Boston sports fans had a pretty epic day of sports. Here are a couple fan-captured videos from the most exciting plays of those two thrilling contests. Tom Brady’s game-winning TD pass to Kenbrell Thompkins David Ortiz’s game-tying grand slam I can’t decide which one is more awesome. I’m just glad both of these people had enough sense to film with their phone sideways. Video: Tom Brady's game winner to Kenbrell Thompkins

Who would've thought? Tom Brady isn't dead after all. After going 4 and out, and then throwing a deep interception, the notion was entering everyone's minds that maybe Brady wasn't as good as he's always been. Maybe the team can't rely on Tom Brady to win games for the team in the end anymore. While SOME of that might be true, none of it was true today. Tom...

Call me crazy, but I don’t think Sproles wanted the hug.

Rob Ryan Can’t Believe Brady Did It (GIF)

This is just classic.  Rob Ryan’s defense has been much improved and played a great game today, but they gave a game winning TD with only 5 seconds to go in the game.  See the GIF below: Julian Edelman Does Not Want to Give Tom Brady a High Five (Video) Steve Smith Can Throw a Block Too (GIF)

David Ortiz Saves The Sox

Wow! That was playoff baseball. A little over halfway into Game 2 of the ALCS and the Red Sox bubble was nearly deflated. Clay Buchholz had just given up four runs to make the score 5-0. And for the second time in as many nights the Red Sox were being no-hit into the sixth inning. Two innings later, though, David Ortiz changed all of that. Down 5-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning...

Your Morning Dump...where the 2013 Sox continue to look special

Your browser does not support iframes.  Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. The main dish, served steaming hot and seasoned the way only Big Papi can, came in the eighth inning, the 15th postseason home run of his career and third this autumn...

Scott Zolak, Bob Socci Go Bonkers Following Tom Brady’s Game-Winning Touchdown Pass to Kenbrell Thompkins (Audio)

“Stabbed by Foulke”, “Bergeron! Bergeron!”, and now “Unicorns! Show ponies! Where’s the beef?!” Wait, what? Iconic plays are often accompanied by the iconic voices that make the call of the play. While Sunday’s Patriots game wasn’t a Super Bowl, or even a playoff game, it was a heck of a comeback in which Tom Brady orchestrated one of his trademark game-winning...

Saints learn why it's so important to play to win

With just minutes to go, the Patriots decided it was their time to take their last shot against the New Orleans Saints on fourth down deep in their own territory. The Saints’ defense held firm, and that should have been the end of the Patriots. Then something funny happened. The Saints went conservative, settling for a field goal that put them ahead of the Patriots by a score...

Patriots place Jerod Mayo on injured reserve

The New England Patriots announced Wednesday that they have placed linebacker Jerod Mayo on injured reserve and re-signed defensive tackle Andre Neblett to the 53-man roster. Mayo underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle Tuesday.  He suffered his injury in the fourth quarter of the Patriots’ 30-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints last Sunday. Mayo had 55 combined tackles...

Justin Verlander ties postseason record with six straight strikeouts

After walking David Ortiz to lead off the second inning Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander tied a postseason record by striking out the next six batters he faced. It could have been seven straight had Shane Victorino not popped up to foul territory in a 1-1 count to leadoff the fourth. The all-time record for most consecutive strikeouts in a regular-season game is 10 held by Hall...

Red Sox Rally Late to Even ALCS with Tigers

The Boston Red Sox rallied with four runs in the eighth inning and one more in the ninth to best the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series 6-5. David Ortiz launched a grand slam in eight to tie the game 5-5 and Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled to left, to score Jonny Gomes for the walkout victory in the ninth. It was Ortiz’s third home run of this postseason...

Prince Fielder denied fan interference call, young fan waves at him (GIF)

The Boston Red Sox pulled off an amazing comeback against the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the ALCS on Sunday night, thanks in large part to David Ortiz’s grand slam to tie the game in the 8th inning. Boston also may have gotten a little help from the umpires. Before he slashed a game-winning […]
