'If you cant beat 'em buy 'em' seems to be Jose Mourinho's way of thinking after a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park on Saturday as the Portuguese boss has turned his attention to The Toffees' rising prospect Ross Barkley according to the Daily Mail. The England international has so far impressed visiting Premier League scouts this campaign with his performances in the centre of Everton's midfield. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea were left out in the cold on Merseyside on Saturday as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton where the driving runs and fighting spirit of the youngster were clear for all to see. Chelsea are short of a young creative English midfielder and with a first England cap under his belt The Blues are sure he has a bright future ahead of him. With Everton determined to keep Barkley at Goodison it's no surprise why Everton boss Roberto Martinez has demanded a bid of no less than £20 million on him. Mourinho is disappointed but not disenchanted. "The market is closed but I asked a question to position myself to see where he was. We are speaking about a very young player but his price was like he has 50 caps when he had none" said Mourinho in response to Everton's high asking bid during a press conference on Friday.
