New York Knicks
In the past few weeks, there has been plenty of discussion in the sports blogosphere about the condition of Derrick Rose’s health, and whether or not he should be playing in the playoffs. Chicago Bulls medical staff and officials cleared Rose to play close to two months ago, and although he’s been practicing, Rose doesn’t feel ready for game-action. Not yet.
Given that it’s been over a year since Rose hurt his ACL, shouldn’t he be suiting up already? Iman Shumpert of the NY Knicks hurt his ACL the same day as Rose, but has been playing for months now.
So our frustration with Rose not playing is justified, right? … Not so fast.
Deng didn’t feel comfortable, so his agent arranged for an outside opinion. And suddenly that day-to-day injury the Bulls couldn’t believe would keep Deng out of action turned into a stress fracture serious enough to require months of rest to heal. Deng didn’t play again that season. He was eventually cleared for basketball activities in July...

ON SECOND THOUGHT
Despite recent speculation, Bulls point guard Derrick Rose reportedly "strongly considered" playing against the Heat, but "ultimately decided against it."
Between Rose, the Bulls, his teammates, other players and “sources”, this has been a textbook way of how not to handle a superstar coming back from injury.
This could have been so easy.
I would have ruled Derrick Rose out for the entire season at the All-Star break, even if I knew it was a chance that he could come back at any time.
That would have stopped all the questions about...
I blame the Bulls for the slander Rose is taking right now. If they would have handled this public relations aspect of this properly, people would have just assumed Rose was still legitimately hurt.
Now, everyone knows that the only thing wrong with Rose is mentally he isn’t ready to play and they are jumping all over him for it.
As long as it isn’t malicious, I think it is fair...
Comedian Craig Robinson from “The Office,” made an appearance on ESPN’s SportsNation with Martellus Wiley and Charissa Thompson on Friday, and according to Busted Coverage, he had some strong feelings on the whole Derrick Rose situation.
The feelings were so strong that he made a tribute song in support of the embattled Chicago Bulls point guard, who has been criticized...
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose keeps fans on edge about what he could do, might do and now what he thought about doing.
Let us be clear he will not return to face the Miami Heat in Chicago’s Eastern Conference semifinals series, but according to CSN Chicago, he thought about it.

Early on in the Chicago Bulls' second-round series against the Miami Heat, there were reports that point guard Derrick Rose would dress for Game 3. This never happened, and Sam Aggrey of CSN Chicago reports that coach Tom Thibodeau is aware that Rose will not return during the team's series against the Heat. However, Aggrey adds that Rose "strongly" considered...
At the outset of the second round of the Chicago Bulls' series against the Miami Heat, Derrick Rose strongly considered returning from his torn ACL but ultimately decided not to, according to a source.
Rose will not return in this series, though, and Tom Thibodeau is aware of that.
Rose reached the one-year anniversary of ACL surgery on Sunday.
For the life of me I’ll never understand why the Chicago Bulls didn’t just rule out Derrick Rose for the season when it was clear that their young star was not ready. The Bulls and Rose have found themselves subject to criticism from numerous outlets, and they really have nobody to blame but themselves. Never [...]
If you work for a media outlet and you’re running a “will he or won’t he play” Derrick Rose story right now…just go and punch yourself right in the face, so that I don’t have to find you, and do it for you! In fact this week, if you’ve published a “will Derrick Rose return or not return” for the NBA Playoffs versus the Miami Heat story…then I pity you, because...
Things just aren't going well for the Chicago Bulls. Too much attention has been paid to when/if Derrick Rose is going to play, the injury bug has really hit these guys hard, and the Miami Heat now appear to be set to end their season barring a miraculous comeback.
In Game Four they could barely buy a shot making just 19 of 74 (Nate Robinson went 0-12). With shooting woes...
The photo pretty much sums it all up. A season marred by injury, but full of pride and some miracles coming to a slow and agonizing finish.
Bulls accomplished more than critics expected with Derrick Rose out, so there’s nothing for them to hang their heads low on. You win some and you lose some, take the off season season to get healthy and there’s no doubt they will return...
What happened: The Miami Heat have taken a 3-1 lead over the Chicago Bulls with an 88-65 win Monday at Chicago in their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
The Bulls have run out of gas with injured players Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng having been out all series.
It seems unlikely that the Bulls have enough energy left to win another game in this series.
Aging sports purist love to constantly remind the younger generations of how things used to be and why they were better. It always starts with the same phrase, “In my day”.
Dad: “Son, in my day the bankboard was made of pure Pittsburgh steel. It took real touch to make it bounce the way you wanted.”
Son: “What the hell’s a bankboard?”
Spend enough time with one...
