To start things off, here's Ryan Rowland-Smith's pitching line from his rehab start in Portland: 6 1/3 innings, 9 hits, 5 runs, 5 earned runs, 1 BB, 4 K. Will that finally earn him the call? I don't know. With Garrett Olson's strong outing tonight, there doesn't seem to be an rotation opening for him, even with Erik Bedard going on the DL. We'll see what Wakamatsu says tomorrow.
I'm going to keep this very brief, because it's going to be a quick turnaround (tomorrow's getaway-day game starts at 12:35 p.m.
Wakamatsu said that he thought Ken Griffey Jr. took some of the best swings he's taken all year. He said Griffey made an adjusment that helps him use the whole ballpark, witnessed by his opposite-field double. He believes that bodes well for Griffey's future performance.
