Found June 30, 2013 on Rockies Review:
Jorge De La Rosa continues to dominate, despite a bruised thumb.Nolan Arenado lined a single back up the middle, scoring Josh Rutledge from second base in the bottom of the 9th inning, giving the Colorado Rockies their fifth consecutive victory over the Giants at Coors Field. On Saturday Arenado came through in the clutch, but when a team wins a game 2-1 at Coors Field, the star of the game isn't anyone who is paid to swing a bat.Once again, as is becoming common place in 2013, Jorge De La Rosa was phenomenal on the mound. Maybe De La Rosa should make sure the bruise on his left thumb doesn't go away. He seems to be nearly unhittable when he is dealing with it while on the mound. The thumb got bad enough that De La Rosa had to come out of the game after trying to warm up in the 7th inning. To that point, he had given up just one run on six hits. The run came when Buster Posey lined a double into the gap in the 6th inning to tie the game up.De La Rosa's gem came with no wig...

Jhoulys Chacin continues to be the pitcher the Colorado Rockies need

Chacin was brilliant again. For the third straight outing, Jhoulys Chacin looked like a pitcher who no one in the National League is excited to face. He looks like a legitimate ace for the Colorado Rockies. In a 4-1 victory, Chacin was an inning away from a complete-game shutout. He wasn't given the opportunity to pitch the 9th, perhaps because that move backfired on Walt Weiss...

Drew Pomeranz struggles in 2013 debut for Colorado Rockies, offense not much better

Drew Pomeranz was unimpressive in his 2013 debut. It is ok to give credit to an opposing pitcher every now and then. But when a team with the offensive capabilities of the Colorado Rockies scores a total of eight runs in a three game series, it constitutes an offensive issue. On Sunday the Rockies lost to the Giants 5-2 on Larry Walker bobblehead day.The Rockies didn't get a...

Nolan Arenado has made a splash with his defense. On Saturday, the rookie showed he can deliver with his offense, too. Michael Cuddyer singled in the first inning to extend his hitting...

Injured Wrist May Send Dexter Fowler to the Disabled List

Lingering right wrist and finger issues have sidelined Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler during this weekends key series against the San Francisco Giants, and may keep him out of the lineup for the foreseeable future. Fantasy Fox: Waiver-wire pitcher for June 28

Mixed-league roto owners, are you looking for a waiver-wire pitcher before Friday's full slate of games? Here's my free-agent choice (citing most 12-team leagues) for one day of relatively fantasy stardom: Jhoulys Chacin, Rockies (vs. Giants) 1. Of his last three outings, spanning 20.2 innings, Chacin has surrendered just four total runs (1.78 ERA). 2. As a result of...

Giants-Rockies Preview

The Colorado Rockies might have found a way to earn some wins during Michael Cuddyer's franchise-record hit streak, a matchup with the struggling San Francisco Giants. Cuddyer is batting .381 with six homers and 18 RBIs during his lengthy run, but Colorado (40...
