Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Well, that wasn't fun. It's becoming clear that the bench is finally coming around but now the starters are slumping. The second unit gave us that big lead in the second quarter and then it went away when the starters came back in. But there's progress. We at least got one great half of basketball. One thing that always strikes me is all the complaints by Hawks fans about Josh Smith. He's not the answer for the Celtics. My favorites are in bold. What are yours?
Perfect time to catch the Celtics, they're on a losing streak and not playing their best basketball
The Celtics are saying the exact same things about ATLANTA. Plus we have injuries across the board.
Turn the green into blue and black
KG told Zaza that his wife smelled like Kvass…and Zaza agreed
Let's get a playoff atmosphere in here
Ugh its gonna be one of these games
Remember how Philips was PACKED with Hawks fans and ROCKING with energy in that series against Boston in 2008? Where did they all go?
left for the heat bandwagon
They're still there They’re the ones cheering for the Celtics now
I just hate everything about Boston
Notice how there weren't many C's fans in Phillips before 2008 Poof: championship and they’re everywhere.
Do people get up for Boston games anymore?
Looks like the Celtics do. We can't even call Boston our rivals as it's been so one-sided.
Just shut up already, Josh
That was... Unfortunate.
Has a quarter of basketball like this ever happened to Atlanta before to teams with at least 2 All-Star-worthy guys in their starting lineup?
Complete intimidation domination by Boston. Ugly............
LD always gets waaaay outcoached by Doc Rivers
I simply can't believe that this team could've "left everything behind" against the Bobcats
Well there is a difference between possibly the worst team in the league and an underachieving C’s team
How is Jeff Green getting to the line so often?
He plays for the Celtics
At this point, fouling Josh is the equivalent of getting a defensive stop Josh is 1-6 from the line
It's hard to blame Boston for never respecting this team. Despite having a better record, it still feels like Boston is ahead of this team
We need to flagrant 2 pierce, kg or rondo...we just need either that or to have a fight break out...something to change our fate.
When is the last time Josh looked good against a good team?
I go get food at halftime and come back to a tie game.....life is great
Stay away for good luck ;P
Josh smith,, no words WHY would you launch that jumper?
The money collected for the golden Danny Ferry statue is temporarily being redirected to the Josh Smith jump shot shock collar fund.
Does the Josh Smith jump shot shock collar come with a gag that automatically activates when he starts arguing with refs?
Who the shih tzu is Jeff Green???
Calls like that is why I hate playing the Celtics
Every game The Celtics always get the calls
Seen on Twitter: "Paul Pierce is slower than gorilla glue."
He's also uglier Than the gorilla that appears on the bottle.
Josh needs to not try to draw fouls.
Not only is he unsucessful, even if he drew the foul He’s like 1-6 from the line tonight. What’s the upside?
KORVER ON FIRE!!! Old man in his wheelchair can't keep up with the white boy
A lil more movement from Josh Instead of being a statue would be nice
Watch Josh make the game-winning three ...Or miss a game-winning lay0up.
Why don't they just make this Boston's alternate court because they are getting every $@%!$@% thing going their way tonight
Rondo just short of back-to-back triple doubles. Deny him Hawks
Josh made a free throw???
If only the Hawks shot frees like the Celtics...
Pierce never fouls.....ever
Courtney Lee is a little bi.tch
Take Bradley off Teague and now he can go nuts.
Actually, I'm shocked that Pargo wasn't called a foul Because, you know….Paul Pierce.
Did Josh get a piece of that, or did Pierce actually flub it THAT badly?
JOSH MADE A FREE THROW!
Boston is too old(I hope)
Thank you very much KG... That was about as stupid as a foul gets. Go sit down.
Just gotta play 54 minutes to get the refs on your side.
Al looked at Sully like a piece of meat once KG fouled out.
Hawks have done well to drag Boston's FG% from 56% in the 2nd to 41%.
Rondo did get his triple double But it took him two OTs to do it.
It took Boston 4 minutes to score 2 points in this OT.
This was great…..no matter how old the Celtics are
The best thing about this win is that it came against the Celtics
I respect the Celtics, but I promise you that no one is gonna be happier to see these dudes retire than I am. Given me enough hell the past 5 years.

Eastern Conference All-Star reserves: Chris Boshtrich, Tyson Chandler, Joakim Noah, Paul George, Luol Deng, Jrue Holiday, and Kyrie Irving will join Rondo, Wade, 'Melo, LeBron and KG who were voted as starters. I think many of us knew this was a distinct possibility. The Celtics record isn't really worthy of having 3 all-stars. That said, Paul Pierce's numbers are remarkably...

Pierce, Aging Celtics Continue The Slide With A Loss To The Knicks
by Nate Weitzer January 25, 2013
Knicks 89, Celtics 86
Gone are the days when Paul Pierce could dribble to his proverbial sweet spot and can game-winners whenever the Celtics needed him.
When the Celtics defeated the Lakers 112-107 in a regular season game during the 2000-01 season...
Danny Ainge is saying he hasn't decided what he's going to do with the Celtics. It was looking unlikely that the Celtics would be able to contend this season without a major trade. Now with Rajon Rondo out for the year Ainge has to decide whether adding a band aid for the season and hoping to make the 2nd round of the playoffs is the best strategy or if the team should go...
After losing their fifth straight against the New York Knicks, Rajon Ronsdo said an interesting thing in his post game interview, "Paul Pierce can't be the only one drawing fouls." Paul Pierce is considered to be Mr. Celtic; the lone active Celtic player to have more than a fleeting memory of Red Auerbach. Pierce cut his NBA teeth in the tradition of what it means...
Paul Pierce hit a go-ahead jumper with 31 seconds left and the Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat 100-98 in double overtime Sunday after learning that All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo was out for the season with a knee injury.
Rondo will have surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He was hurt late in Boston's 123-112 loss, also in two overtimes, to...
Much better effort from the Celtics even if the result wasn't different. There is definitely something going on with Paul Pierce - just not playing well at all. The Knick fans weren't quite as bad as they usually are but as always, the stabbing jokes are disgusting. At least there weren't as many death and injury wishes as usual. And surprisingly, some Knicks...
The bewildered Celtics will need more of this from Jeff Green
The Celtics are all to familiar with
the emotions of "a day at the park"
Being a Celtics fan for a season is almost like going to Six Flags, or any other amusement park, for the day. The anticipation to get there is unbearable and all you can do is sit and think about the possible outcomes of a day at the park. You finally get there and reality hits you, theres a lot of...
Earlier today, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh had the unfortunate problem of getting caught on a nasty poster dunk against the Boston Celtics.Watch as Boston's Jeff Green soars to the rack and slams it down right in Bosh's mug which brings the pro-Celtics crowd into a frenzy:
The Celtics clawed their way back from a 10-point deficit in the 4th quarter only to fumble the ball out of bounds on two critical possessions late in the game. It was those mental mistakes, courtesy Jason Terry and Paul Pierce, that cost them a chance at victory over the Knicks. The final score: NY 89 Bos 86.
The reason behind tonight’s loss was the shooting. The Celtics...
