Michael Jordan's deal to buy the Bobcats is a significant development in the NBA. The irony, among many, is Jordan would run a Charlotte franchise that George Shinn, owner of the Hornets, who mistakenly bolted Charlotte for New Orleans, then didn't want to return to the Big Easy from Oklahoma City after the Hurricane Katrina mess, wouldn't share the rock with his Airness. Imagine that. What bigger celebrity is there in North Carolina than Jordan? Drafting players isn't his forte, but as an owner, particularly in his native state, he could become a major factor as a recruiter. Would LeBron, D-Wade, Chris Bosh or some other big name consider the Bobcats? With Jordan in their ears, it's a possibility. Money would be an object though. But if Jordan and the Bobcats have some to spend, I could see an All-Star considering it. That is if one can put up with the cranky Larry Brown.
