As we reported earlier, Lakers stars Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard reportedly almost got into a fight when Kobe called the struggling center soft to his face.
While a fight is never a good thing when it concerns a teams star players, it begs an even bigger question. With Dwight scheduled to be a free agent and he and Kobe not the best of friends, could the Lakers trade the big man?
If so, the reported destination would be Brooklyn.
If you remember, before Dwight was traded from Orlando, he had made it clear that Brooklyn was his dream destination. The prospect of a new team in a new city and playing alongside Deron WIlliams were all things that enticed Dwight.
The Nets stand with the ability to put together an enticing package if Dwight makes it clear he will sign with them long-term. The key component is Brook Lopez. Almost assuredly to be included in any Dwight deal, the Nets center can’t be traded until Jan. 15th at the earliest because of his newly signed 4-year, $61 million deal.
We’ll have to keep our eyes on the situation, as the Kobe-Dwight fight certainly puts a trade in play if the stars can’t co-exist.

Kobe Bryant was introspective after after the Lakers' 107-102 loss Friday to the Clippers.
Just so everyone is aware, the Los Angeles Lakers lost, again. They were beat up by the Rockets and their problem may have been due to the lineup they put out on the court. The team is missing Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol, and we all know that Kobe Bryant can be a ball-hog at times, but this was taking it to another level. For what it is worth, this was Chris Webber’s suggestion H/T Game On!
