We all know the Hurleys can both play ball and coach. Dan was a standout player at Seton Hall in the mid-90s and Bobby, of course, had a decent few years at a place called Duke – finishing his career as the all-time assists leader at the Division 1 level (1,076) and as a two-time NCAA champion.
Well, thanks to the creative marketing team at the University of Rhode Island and Scott Beer at Cinestories, this gem has been created. And there are more coming down the pipeline as well.
Despite a flood of calls from the Screen Actors Guild, the word is Dan & Bobby have no designs on a career switch.
Rhode Island begins its season – the first for the Hurleys in Kingston – with an exhibition opener against the Coast Guard Academy next Friday, Nov. 2. The Rams begin the regular season the following Friday against Norfolk State in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic.
