David Beckham is posing in his briefs once again, for his new H&M Bodywear Holiday 2012 collection and ad campaign. The soccer star first teamed up with the retailer in 2011 and has since had great success with the co-branded line of boxers, briefs, long johns, pajamas and tees. Though he’s long been involved in fashion-related projects and has previous experience as an underwear model for Emporio Armani, this marks the first fashion line that he truly calls his own.
“The reaction to the line has been incredible. The hard work is what made the success as we expected it to be. I’ve always been involved in the process of design of some kind, but to have something that was actually mine, that was something different and special and something that I really actually enjoyed. We created something that we believe men would want to wear and women would want to see their men in it.“
As part of the new Holiday range, fashions have expanded to include items like drawstring pants and a hooded robe. Beckham describes the inspiration behind the collection as “long johns 50 years ago, 100 years ago, what people used to wear and how people used to wear them. My collection so far has been about simplicity, something that will last and not go out of style within a year.”

He’s embraced his status as a sports style icon explaining:
“I think when people refer to me as a fashion icon it’s something I’m proud of because at the end of the day, I’m a football player.”
