David Price had an interesting Saturday night that extended beyond his struggles at Fenway Park.
Price was lit up for seven runs over seven innings in the Rays’ Game 2 loss to the Red Sox that has Tampa Bay trailing the American League Division Series 2-0. Given the circumstances, it was one of the worst outings of Price’s career. Despite such a poor outing, Price wants you to remember that it’s just one outing in a career filled with accomplishments.
The 28-year-old has a decorated resume, and he wasn’t afraid to tell everyone that as Saturday night turned into Sunday morning. Just hours after taking that Game 2 loss, Price was on Twitter responding to some critics.
It came off a little odd to say the least. This is how it started.

Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price was smacked around by the Red Sox during Game 2 in Boston, giving up seven runs over seven innings pitched in the Rays 7-4 loss to the Sox on Saturday. A frustrated Price took to Twitter after the game to not only remind fans of his various accomplishments in college and MLB, but also to bash the TBS analysts who criticized him following the game...
The San Francisco Giants will spend a good chunk of the next few months looking for a way to upgrade their starting pitching. Retaining players, signing players, or trading for players, Brian Sabean and Co are willing to do whatever is necessary to increase the quality of their five man rotation.
Well, it appears that one of the best in the game will be available. Tampa Bay...
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Rays left-hander David Price verbally apologized for his Twitter rant that he said "embarrassed his organization" after a loss to the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
Early Sunday morning, after he allowed seven runs and nine hits in the Red Sox's 7-4 victory at Fenway Park, he criticized members of...
I guess Rays ace David Price and his girlfriend both need a little lesson in social media. Engaging in arguments with fans on Twitter when you're a celebrity is a terrible idea, even if you're just that celebrity's girlfriend. Yesterday, we wrote an article about Price going on a sore loser Twitter rant following Saturday's game. His girlfriend Tiffany Nicole, has...
The feeling around the clubhouse is that the
low-payroll Tampa Bay Rays will somehow find a way to retain left-handed starting pitcher
David Price, who’s poised to get big money on the free-agent market or through a lucrative long-term extension. There are others, specifically nine unnamed baseball executives which Joel Sherman of The New York Post interviewed, that don'...
David Price was a little shaken after losing Game 2 in Boston on Saturday. That was obvious to anyone who read his Twitter feed.
Price had a mini social media meltdown after the Rays lost 7-4 to fall into an 0-2 hole in the best-of-five ALDS. He rattled off a series of tweets in which he promoted his baseball accolades and sounded rather immature. The pitcher later apologized for...
David Price did not take his ALDS Game 2 loss to the Boston Red Sox in stride on Saturday. The Tampa Bay Rays ace allowed seven runs over seven innings and was taken deep twice by David Ortiz. Big Papi’s second home run was a towering shot in the eighth inning that wrapped around the […]
BOSTON (AP) -- David Ortiz homered twice, the second shot chasing David Price in the eighth inning on Saturday night, and the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-4 to take a 2-0 lead in the AL division series.
It was the first two-homer postseason game for the Red Sox designated hitter. Ortiz was a star for the 2004 Boston team that won the franchise's first World Series...
(Photo by Jared Wickerham/Getty Images)David Ortiz took David Price deep twice, Jacoby Ellsbury had three hits and Dustin Pedroia knocked in three runs to pace the Red Sox to a 7-4 win over Tampa and a commanding 2-0 ALDS series lead. Boston went to the plate in an uncharacteristically aggressive mode against Price and built an early 5-1 lead on the Rays' ace. But John Lackey...
I’ll admit, I was no fun to be around last night during game two of the ALDS.
For one thing, I was washing down Hostess Twinkies with Michelob Ultra, meaning that sugar and alcohol spent the better part of the night battling over which could make me a bigger asshole.
For another, I had an unshakable sense that something was going to go wrong for the Sox. That the Rays were folding...
Major League Baseball schedules 162 games, but sometimes it just takes 163. Behind David Price’s complete game the Tampa Bay Rays topped Texas 5-2 to round out the field for October.

Over the past few years of playoff baseball, fans have come to understand that their are a couple of rules when it comes to playoff baseball.
1. The hottest team will tend to win in the short series’
2. The best starting pitcher will make the difference in the series.
3. Three man rotations are the keys to winning a series.
4. Offensive production does not tend to carry over into...
