David Price had an interesting Saturday night that extended beyond his struggles at Fenway Park. Price was lit up for seven runs over seven innings in the Rays’ Game 2 loss to the Red Sox that has Tampa Bay trailing the American League Division Series 2-0. Given the circumstances, it was one of the worst outings of Price’s career. Despite such a poor outing, Price wants you to remember that it’s just one outing in a career filled with accomplishments. The 28-year-old has a decorated resume, and he wasn’t afraid to tell everyone that as Saturday night turned into Sunday morning. Just hours after taking that Game 2 loss, Price was on Twitter responding to some critics. It came off a little odd to say the least. This is how it started. Trust me I don't want sympathy...I got beat tonight...so be it..I'll bounce back...3x ALLSTAR...2 time player choice...runner up cy...AND CY— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 See? Price is going to be OK, because he’s won some individual regular-season awards. Those are what matters. Those are what get you to Cooperstown. And apparently those are what are going to get Tampa Bay back into the series? Well, maybe not, because this rant is apparently all about David Price and how he’ll respond. Price also took some heat Saturday night because of issue he took with David Ortiz’s home run trot — after giving up two home runs to the Red Sox designated hitter. Better question is why do you follow me?? RT @theReal_JonJon: @DAVIDprice14 why do you cry and complain about PAPI when he takes you yard?— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 Clever. What’s next? Something like siding with the blind loyalists? Well, yeah, actually. What u said!! RT @Blk_boyy_flyy: @DAVIDprice14 my man DP tough game bro but no matter what T'mo is proud of you and so am I, #donut4life lol— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 OK, OK. So Price had a rough night. But what he did in college is what matters, apparently. No you forgot CLEAN sweep of every college award...NEVER BEEN DONE RT @mbschultz74: @DAVIDprice14 you forgot Brooks Wallace award winner too— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 We’re officially all over the place now. not bragging...you can google that..true fans understand..fake one don't..PERIOD RT @Yons18: @DAVIDprice14 This is the ultimate humble brag.— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 I promise you that won't be the case.,.RT @waytiz: @DAVIDprice14 and you're going to see Big Papi in your sleep tonight— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 Someone brought up Price’s pending free agency as well. The pitcher, who is almost certainly going to leave Tampa for greener (like money) pastures, then retweeted this tweet from a fan. @DAVIDprice14 these are the same people that will be begging for you to join their team when you're a free agent— Joshua Stalnaker (@JoshuaStalnaker) October 06, 2013 But hey, it actually is all about the team. Or something like that. We have been playing game 7's for the past week up until Boston...now we have another!! We WILL be just fine— David Price (@DAVIDprice14) October 06, 2013 Filed under: Headlines, MLB, Tampa Bay Rays, Twitter, Uncategorized
