DEAR MODERATORS: "UNCLE!"

Posted September 05, 2013

DEAR Yardbarker Moderators:

Regarding your changing the title of my 'WEEK ONE: BLOODY CIRCUMCISION' post to 'WEEK ONE: POINTLESSLY GROSS HEADLINE' there was in fact a point to it.

As sports fans do, I engaged in some mockery of a rival teams nickname, namely referring to the Redskins as the Foreskins. The 'Circumcision' reference was merely an continuation of that line of humor, and I felt that it would attract attention and open discussion up of the coming EAGLES/Foreskins tilt on Monday night. I generally don't seek discussion of what I write on here, but that post was different, so I felt I had to "load" it with something my fellow EAGLES fans would like.

It apparently did the trick. So again, there was a point.

I felt it was well in keeping with your Community rules summation of "If you wouldn't say it to your mother, you shouldn't say it on Yardbarker. It's really that simple."

I realize that it is your site and that I am a guest on it, (thank you for having me, btw), and I won't ask you to reinstate my title, though with the point now explained it is the only decent thing to do; but could you dial back the judgement just a hair? I mean "pointless" and "gross"? Gross maybe, but there most certainly was a point, which apparently my fellow EAGLES fans get.

  • I thought it looked different. I'd say that to my mother.
