Beyond The Buzzer:
DeMarcus Cousins earned his second ejection of the season when he was called for the Flagrant 2 foul on Vince Carter in an overtime loss to the Mavericks on Thursday. The call was initially ruled a common foul, but was then changed to a Flagrant 1, reviewed, and switched again to a more severe Flagrant 2 and automatic ejection. He now leads the league with 2 ejections on the year. You have to wonder watching the replay if his reputation had anything to do with the ultimate ruling, you be the judge:

It has been a roller coaster month for DeMarcus Cousins, and it took another dip on Thursday night as the Sacramento Kings took on Dallas. While Cousins put up some big numbers (like he can), he also has moments that make you bang your head on the wall (like he did). While the teams battled in OT, Cousins ended up elbowing Vince Carter...
Where do you begin with DeMarcus Cousins? He has the potential to be a star studded athlete, who has the capabilities to dominate his position, but the story is still the same for Cousins.
Down by two points with 40 seconds remaining in overtime, Cousins was tripled team then stripped of the ball. During this moment you either foul, or get back on defense. Simple, but Cousins had...
It's strange to imagine the season when Dirk Nowitzki no longer wears a Dallas Mavericks jersey, the only uniform he has donned during his 15 NBA seasons.
But what is even more bizarre is the possibility of seeing Nowitzki wearing another team's colors. It only seems right that the face of the Dallas franchise finishes his professional career with the team he led to its...
During OT between the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings Thursday night, DeMarcus Cousins had another display of bad judgement as he shoved Vince Carter in the face and was called for a flagrant-1, which was changed to a flagrant-2. You can see the regret as he grabs Carter, but it’s too little, too late. Cousins [...]The post DeMarcus Cousins Shoves Vince Carter In Face; Ejected...
Dirk Nowitzki never wants to play for another NBA franchise, but he also doesn’t want to finish his career just fighting for the West’s final playoff spot.
“Ultimately, my goal was always to finish my career in Dallas,” Nowitzki told ESPN in an interview taped before Wednesday’s Mavs-Clippers game. “The only way if I was going to leave was if we won a championship and...

Shawn Marion added 19 points and 10 rebounds to help the Mavericks snap a four-game losing streak. Dallas, which had lost 10 of 11, finished its short road trip 1-2.

Cuban being Cuban. League officials fined Mavs owner Mark Cuban $50,000 for tweeting this:
“I’ve tried for 13 years to fix the officiating in this league and I have failed miserably. Any suggestions? I need help.” ….
Along with telling ESPN that sending in video footage to league officials, of referee errors, doesn’t help.
Keep fighting the good fight, Mark.
Count the Dallas Mavericks among the list of NBA teams who are keeping an eye on former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden.
A source told ESPNDallas.com that the Mavs have been among the teams in contact with Oden’s agent, Mike Conley Sr., while the 7-footer rehabs from his third microfracture surgery and takes classes at Ohio State.

(Photo Credit: Stephen Dunn/Getty Images) I was still holding out hope, all the way until midway through the fourth quarter I was still holding out hope. Not just that the Mavericks would come back after squandering a 10 point lead late in the third against the Clippers. Not just that Dirk would return to his [...]
Just when you think that the Dallas Mavericks can’t get a win, not only did they get a win, they got an overtime win to break both streaks they had going on. So far this season, Dallas is now 1-8 in overtime games and stopped a four game losing streak to get the victory over the emotional Sacramento Kings.
Over the last couple of days, Sacramento has been in the forefront of the...
Well, I don’t know what else to say or write about on my Dallas Mavericks. They are a good team, they have shown that; they have shown that they can win games, they have shown that they can play with the best of the teams, but at this time, they are having trouble closing out games when they have the lead and that was the case with the Los Angeles Clippers.
