The biggest take away for me this week concerns the Philadelphia offense for the second week running. Against the Chargers the offense was impressive yet again, with Michael Vick passing for 428 yards and the team adding 89 on the ground. The defense, however, struggled failing to contain their opponent for the second consecutive week. Philadelphia will be putting a lot on the shoulders...
Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly wants to quicken his already high octane offense by helping out the officials. It's common for a player to be tackled and just toss or roll the ball, forcing the referee to go chasing it. Well, that time the referees is chasing is time Kelly wants to run more plays, so he's telling his players, 'give the ref the damn ball.'
The Philadelphia Eagles dropped their home opener against the San Diego Chargers on a late field goal, losing 33-30. The point difference in the game was a missed field goal by Alex Henery in the first half, but the entire burden of the loss rests squarely on the shoulders of the defense.
The Eagles’ defense confirmed our concerns heading into the season. The first half of...

After opening the season with two dominant quarters, the Eagles defense seem to have showed their true colors over the last six quarters. Against the Redskins, they had a large lead and shifted towards a “let’s try not to blow this” mentality. Against the Chargers, they were horrific from beginning to end. Just how bad were they on Sunday? I think this tweet sums it up...
Chip Kelly is learning the NFL rule book on the job.
The do-it-his-way coach didn't think he could use a timeout to allow a banged-up Michael Vick to stay in the game during an important moment in the Philadelphia Eagles' 33-30 loss to San Diego Chargers to Sunday.
Upon further review, Kelly learned he was wrong.
''That's on me. I didn't think we could...
DeSean Jackson is playing like it’s a contract year.
Jackson, who has been paid all of his guaranteed money, could be released for minimal cap hit if he doesn’t perform. DeSean has 14 catches for 262 yards and two touchdowns in first two games.
He got the hint.

Last week our team of experts were split between the Eagles and Redskins. This week, it is a unanimous choice as each writer picks the Eagles to beat the San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers, coming off a come-from-behind loss, come to Philadelphia on a short week while traveling across the country. All of that leads to an Eagles win…or so...
The Eagles let a game slip away to the San Diego Chargers yesterday afternoon in South Philadelphia.
Despite another outrageous offensive performance that saw the Eagles total 511 yards, the team was let down by a struggling defense.
Here are your Eagles day after news, notes, and injury report.

After week one, we were all like: “Hey! Maybe the Eagles D isn’t too bad!”
Turns out, the Skins are just that bad this year.
Stud of the week: Michael Vick, clearly, who had a career day with 428 yards, two thrown TDs, one run TD, and no turnovers. DJax had a good day, too, as did Shady, with a career receiving day...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via ProFootballTalk.com, the Philadelphia Eagles almost acquired Colin Kaepernick in a trade with the 49ers that would have sent a second round pick to San Francisco prior to the 2012 NFL draft.
Because Alex Smith had a strong year in 2011, after Kaepernick had been drafted, the 49ers reportedly were willing to move him. Schefter says the Eagles...
