DAVIE, Fla. The Miami Dolphins refused to let a Friday night flight alter their pregame preparation. Instead of hanging out at home, well be hanging out on the plane, defensive end Cameron Wake said a couple of hours before the Dolphins departed for San Francisco. Well watch some film together, probably take some naps and get something to eat. Same routine, well just be doing it 30,000 feet in the air. The Dolphins, who usually travel Saturday for road games, left a day early to play the 49ers (8-3-1) at Candlestick Park on Sunday. Miami (5-7) has lost four of its last five games following a three-game winning streak. NFC West-leading San Francisco is coming off an overtime loss at St. Louis last week. By beating Seattle at Sun Life Stadium on Nov. 25, Miami has won seven straight and 12 of 13 at home against West Coast teams since 97. During the same time frame, the Dolphins havebeen West Coast road warriors as well. They are a combined 10-4 when visiting Seattle, Oakland, San Diego and San Francisco. Its definitely a little bit different, coach Joe Philbin said of the cross-country trip. We'vetalked to the guys about the purpose of the trip, why were going out there. Were gong to do everything the same (Saturday) -- practice like we would, meet like we would, go over the practice film like we would. So, we want to keep it as similar as we can. Philbin took his team to Arizona in Week 4, when Miami lost 24-21 in overtime. Not a true West Coast trip, but a good distance from South Florida nonetheless. I thought we had an excellent trip from an operational standpoint when we went (to Arizona), Philbin said. Obviously, we want to go out West this time with the same type of focus and attention to the task at hand, but a better outcome. To do that, the Dolphins will have to get past a San Francisco team talented in all areas. Colin Kaepernick is expected to start at quarterback for the fourth straight week after replacing Alex Smith. Hes an athlete, Wake said of Kaepernick. A guy like that definitely can create problems for a defense if youre not disciplined. Kaepernick isnt Miamis only concern. San Francisco has the league's second-best rushing attack led by former University of Miami star Frank Gore. Offensively, the Dolphins will face a unit that is second behind Pittsburgh in total defense. Miami will be without left tackle Jake Long, who was placed on injured reserve with a lefttricepsinjury. We have to be physical with them. We have to run the football, guard Richie Incognito said. We have to take control of the game. Something thathasn'tbeen a Miami routine this season.

Dolphins Gameplan: Keep Tannehill alive…..

The Miami Dolphins loss last week at home put their season on the brink.  After losing 4 of their last 5, the Dolphins are as close to earning a top 10 pick in the draft, as they are to making the playoffs.  If the Dolphins can pull off an upset on Sunday and a few other things happen, we might be able to entertain the possibility.  But, the Dolphins’ task at hand is a very...

Dolphins players cry over Patriots playing football against them

How dare those Patriots. Running a successful play, trying it again and succeeding with it over and over against a team that couldn't just defend it. What did they think it was, a football game or something? Apparently, some Miami Dolphins players complained, calling it "disrespectful." Really. A Patriots' fourth quarter clock-killing drive consisted of 16...

Dolphins felt like the Patriots disrepsected them last week

After losing to the Patriots last week, some players on the Miami Dolphins felt like it was disrespectful of New England to run the same play over and over again in order to eat up the clock in the fourth quarter. “It really (ticked) me off,” said linebacker Karlos Dansby, per the Palm Beach Post. “It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful...

Dolphins Defense Upset Because ‘Disrespectful’ Patriots Ran Same Play Over and Over in Week 13 Win

The Patriots beat the Dolphins 23-16 on Sunday, but the manner in which it was done isn’t sitting well with some of the Miami players. When the Patriots put the game away in the fourth quarter on a 16-play, 77-yard drive that ended with a field goal to ice the game, they did so thanks to a run-heavy attack. Of the 16 plays, 13 were running plays and what’s more, six of those...

Reggie Bush And Will Smith Throw Up The Peace Sign

Maybe he will put me in Bad Boys III Juan… Reggie Bush has had pretty average season as he plays the last year of his contract out.  It doesn’t look like he will be back in South Beach.  With Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller in the fold, the new regime might choose to move on.  Still, Bush has the star power to hang out with Hollywood Heavyweights like Will Smith.  Smith is...

Dolphins players say Patriots running clock out was disrespectful

Are you kidding me?CBS Boston:Miami’s defense proved incapable of stopping or even slowing the Patriots’ rushing attack, and it cost the Dolphins a chance at winning. Despite their own inability to do their jobs, some Dolphins are claiming the Patriots were being “disrespectful” with their strategy.“It really (ticked) me off. It was disrespectful to us to run the same play...

Miami Dolphins should have hands full versus the 49ers

In 1992, a Miami Dolphins team complete with Dan Marino and a corps of receivers walked into a rainy and sloppy field in Candelstick park and came up empty with only a field goal losing 27-3.  Flash forward to 2012 and this matchup proves to be an opportunity for the 49ers to show they can be the best in the NFL or for the Miami Dolphins to show that they can win a big game on the...

Chad Johnson Cites ‘Humility,’ Being ‘Quiet’ and ‘Always Open’ as He Begs for NFL Job (Video)

Oh, Chad Johnson, don’t ever change. Ever since the artists formerly known as Ochocinco was released by the Miami Dolphins during the NFL season following an arrest, we haven’t heard all that much from the mercurial former star. What we do know is that Johnson has apparently taken anger management classes and bought a car that cost almost $400,000, but there hasn’t been much...

Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers: Three Bold Predictions

Sunday afternoon in San Francisco the 8-3-1 San Francisco 49ers will be taking on the 5-7 Miami Dolphins.Though the records do not reflect it, this is really a pretty even match-up.Both of these teams boast stout rush defenses with the Niners ranking 3rd allowing 90.6 YPG, and the Dolphins ranking a respectable 8th allowing 97.7 YPG. This should make it hard for both teams to...

Some Dolphins players felt 'disrespected' by Patriots' repeatedly calling run plays that worked

No offense angers its past opponents quite like the New England Patriots'. Last Sunday, the Patriots were beating the Miami Dolphins by a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. With just over eight minutes to go, the Patriots started a 16-play drive that ate more than seven minutes. During the drive, the Patriots ran the ball 13 times, with 10 carries going to Stevan Ridley...

Film Review: Dolphins' stout defense vs. Patriots

BY SEAN DONOVANWhile moral victories are always reserved for losers, the Miami Dolphins still have to be pleased with their defensive performance in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the New England Patriots. After all, the Patriots had been scoring at a record 37 points-per-game pace going into the week, yet were held to just two touchdowns. The Dolphins did this by generating pressure on...

Behind Enemy Lines: 49ers/Dolphins, Part II

NinersDigest’s Craig Massei and DolphinDigest’s Alain Poupart go Behind Enemy Lines to preview Sunday’s game between the 49ers and Dolphins. What happened to the Dolphins after a promising start? Is new coach Joe Philbin the right guy for the job? How close did the Dolphins come to signing Alex Smith in the offseason? How much does the loss of Jake Long hurt Miami? These Q...

Pitiful Picks: Dolphins in for a physical fight, can they win?

The Miami Dolphins are about to have their toughest physical test of the season.  Though the playoffs are a distant hope at this point, it’s important that they play well and improve each week as they head into the offseason.  The primary thing I want to see if the continued development of Ryan Tannehill.  Tannehill and the Dolphins offense will have a tough matchup today against...
