The Miami Dolphins have been a trendy pick this offseason, but no one sees them as a complete roster. There are holes that can be patched between now and the start of the regular season, and a new hole was recently exposed in practice. Second-year lineman Jonathan Martin was the weak link in practice, reportedly getting beat repeatedly and owned by pass rushers. "It has been eye-popping to see the extent of the domination because we're not talking about a sack some days but not others," wrote Armando Salquero of the Miami Herald. "We're talking sack followed by sack followed by other sacks." Coach Joe Philbin had a more positive take on the issue. "You guys were here," coach Joe Philbin told reporters. "O.V. got [Martin] a couple of times -- once outside and once inside on a run-action pass. I think [Martin has] done a good job in drop-back. I think his sets have been good. The thing an offensive lineman consistently has to work on ...

Dolphins sloppy in loss to Cowboys, but there were a few positives

The Miami Dolphins have been practicing for 2 weeks, but by the looks of things on Sunday night, they’re going to need a lot more practice.  The Dolphins were sloppy from the beginning of the game when they fumbled on their first offensive play from scrimmage.  The handoff from Ryan Tannehill to Lamar Miller appeared to be good, but Miller just missed it.  Tannehill was ‘credited’...

Miami Dolphins HOF Game stock watch

The Miami Dolphins kicked off the preseason with a sloppy effort in a 24-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Although many of the Dolphins starters either didn't suit up or only played a handful of series, the overall performance was disappointing. Their tackling and redzone offense were poor, and they lost the turnover battle. However, its best that the team plays at their worst...

Dolphins reportedly still uncertain about Lamar Miller

Dolphins running back Lamar Miller ended up turning the football over on the first play of tonight’s Hall of Fame game against the Cowboys. ESPN’s Adam Schefter then tweeted that some people within the Dolphins organization aren’t sure about Miller yet. Lamar Miller might go on to be a star running back. But sense about him with some in organization is still uncertainty. ...

Jared Odrick (groin), Randy Starks (knee), and Mike Wallace (groin) are starters unlikely to play in HOF game. #Dolphins — Armando Salguero (@ArmandoSalguero...

15 Most Important Dolphins for 2013: #1 Ryan Tannehill

Second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. (Photo: SI) It's probably no surprise, but the most important Miami Dolphin for the upcoming 2013 season will be second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Game managers like Craig Krenzel, Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn may be able to win national championships in college football, but to win the Super Bowl, having an elite quarterback is...

Miami Dolphins 2013: What To Look For at The Hall of Fame Game

It may sound like a broken record, but don’t expect to see too much at the Hall of Fame Game Sunday night. While there are still questions to be answered on the offensive line, with the receivers and the secondary, this is just an audition of sorts for NFL preseason.Don’t expect starters and stars to play all that much.Don’t worry, the Cowboys will be going through the same...

Victor Cruz Says Hakeem Nicks Should Get Mike Wallace Money

Victor Cruz is a good teammate, and extremely loyal. Cruz who just cashed in on a $45 million deal thinks Hakeem Nicks is worth way more than that, and told USA Today, that Nicks should get the same deal that Mike Wallace got from the Dolphins, if not more. “Absolutely, Hakeem is worth Mike Wallace money,” Cruz told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday. “He’s worth whatever his numbers...

Dolphins' Jonathan Martin not paying heed to naysayers

DAVIE, Fla. -- Hall of Famer and NFL analyst James Lofton isn't sure Jonathan Martin can do the job at left tackle for the Miami Dolphins. And Lofton, like Martin, is a Stanford graduate. Hall of Famer Larry Little calls Martin one of the biggest question marks on the team. And Little is a former offensive lineman for the Dolphins and a big fan of the team. Even Miami coach...
