Jets tight end Dustin Keller is unsure if the team will re-sign him, but wants to avoid being franchise tagged this offseason, per Connor Orr of The Star-Ledger. “I 100 percent do not want to be franchised,” Keller clarified in an e-mail, via Orr. “I signed a five year deal, that’s what I agreed to. To make somebody play a one year deal to something they never agreed to is crazy to me.” Keller added that he’s looking to settle down and be somewhere for an extended period of time under his next contract. This upcoming offseason, the franchise tag for a tight end will cost a team $5.962 million. Considering that Keller has only played in 8 games this season, he may get more money immediately by being franchise tagged by the Jets. It would also give him an opportunity to bounce back from this season and position himself for a bigger payday the following offseason. Keller is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and ranks 84th on our 2013 free agents: 51-100 list.       The post Dustin Keller Wants To Avoid The Franchise Tag appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
