Fresh off of an NBA Championship, Dwyane Wade is looking to come back from a knee injury to defend his title. However, one of his off the court moves is a bit of an eyebrow raiser.
He has been a rep for Nike shoes for three years, and has even had the Fly Wade shoes (below) named after him.
Now, according to ESPN Insider, Dwyane Wade will be leaving Nike.
Dwyane Wade has been a rep for Nike’s Jordan Brand for three years and that led to the release of two Fly Wade shoes.
SneakerWatch.com reports Wade is leaving Nike and will sign a multi-million dollar contract with Chinese brand Li-Ning. According to the website, an official announcement could come within a few days.
It is not known when the first Wade signature shoe from Li-Ning will be released.
This is surprising, seeing as Wade has been one of the biggest faces of the Jordan brand over the past few years, especially when you consider that he’s leaving for a Chinese brand that a lot of people probably haven’t even heard of.
Dwyane Wade averaged 22 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds last season for the Miami Heat.
