Eagles and the Philadelphia Government - Perfect Together

FantooGirls's Blog:

Awww...a red carpet shot...before a face slap?
So, after months of bitching about the 8 million dollars the Eagles owe the taxpayers of Philadelphia for luxury box sales, they have finally coughed it up. Only it's a red herring.
A judge today ruled that the Eagles do in fact owe the taxpayers of Philadelphia 8 million dollars.
BUT:
A pre-season game was canceled in 2001 - was even one tear shed? - due to poor field conditions. So, the city owes the Eagles some cash. Bet the tally will come in around 8 million.
No one can hurl faster than me over this disgusting abuse of power.
Why should we foot the bill because the city couldn't keep the field in order? I don't see Jeff Lurie writing me a check when they have a great year.
Profession sports teams should never benefit from taxpayer dollars. These businesses are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Last I checked, I wasn't.
