LeSean McCoy Deserves New Contract, Named FedEx Ground Player of the Year

Philadelphia Eagles two-time Pro Bowl receiver DeSean Jackson isn’t the only member of the Philadelphia Eagles that is seeking a new contract — so is starting running back LeSean “Shady” McCoy. McCoy was recognized by the NFL for his production through the 2011 season with the FedEx Ground Player of the Year award the Eagles announced on Wednesday. McCoy...

LeSean McCoy Could Benefit In A Two Back System With A Player Like Peyton Hillis

There is no doubt that LeSean McCoy is a top tier NFL running back, probably in the top three.  McCoy had a standout 2011 season that earned him a pro-bowl and the bulls-eye of every NFL team’s defense. LeSean McCoy bolstered 1309 yards, 17 rushing touchdowns and a 4.8 yards per carry average in his 2011 campaign.  McCoy also garnered 48 receptions for 315 yards with an additional...

Take That New York: Andy Reid Holds His Own Media Day

Of all the days head coach Andy Reid could have held his season ending press conference he chose today. Not only was it on Super Bowl XLVI media day it was also during the New York Giants scheduled hour to meet with the press. Reid was scheduled to speak with the media right after the Philadelphia Eagles finished their 8-8 season in early January but the press conference was delayed...

What Did Andy Reid Say On DeSean Jackson's Future? Not Much

"We're going to go through and look at all that," Reid said. "We really haven't gotten to that point ... We're analyzing the free agents, we're analyzing what we did, we went through our team then we're going to analyze the draft and then you kind of put all that together and talk through it, where you have a feel on kind of the whole picture of...

Report: Juan Castillo to Remain as Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Coordinator

According to sources, Juan Castillo will return as the defensive coordinator next season for the Philadelphia Eagles. Castillo was named the defensive coordinator last season after being the offensive line coach for 13 seasons. He had been under fire all season long after the self-proclaimed “dream team” went on several losing streaks, with the worst being a four-game streak...

Rodney Harrison Says David Tyree Was Asante Samuel’s Man

Over the past three years, we have all seen the David Tyree catch multiple times. Forget divine intervention helping Tim Tebow win with the Broncos this season. The closest thing I have ever seen to divine intervention on a football field was Eli Manning somehow escaping the grasp of Jarvis Green and Tyree somehow making a catch against his helmet. Rodney Harrison was the man covering...

LeSean McCoy Admits To Not Trying

In light of Aaron Rodgers putting his NFC Pro Bowl teammates on blast for putting forth a lackluster effort, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy admitted to not trying in the game Sunday. "Yeah? I'm one of those guys," McCoy said when asked about Rodgers comments. "You walk around every practice and the guys before the games on other teams are like...

NFL Yearbook: 2011 Philadelphia Eagles

2011 was a year of extreme disappointment for the Philadelphia Eagles. Never before has a season that began with such promise crashed and burned the way the "Dream Team" did. The circumstances of the lockout and the shortened free agent period inflated expectations and brought hope to a disenfranchised fan base. The Eagles came out of the lockout with an aggressive free...

Castillo stays on in Philly, Bowles to coach secondary

Hot News for C Andy Reid

Reid admits he offered Spagnuolo a job

The buzz in Indy, at least among those who ordinarily cover the Eagles but who are covering the Super Bowl instead this week, is that coach Andy Reid deliberately waited for the cats to be away until holding a press conference. Though some of the regulars weren’t there to pepper him with questions, Reid said…

Eagles' Reid: I offered Spagnuolo job (AP)

Before Steve Spagnuolo chose New Orleans, the former Rams coach was offered an unspecified position with the Philadelphia Eagles. Spagnuolo was highly sought-after following his dismissal from St. Louis. Eagles coach Andy Reid wanted his old friend to join his staff and work with current defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.

Eagles hire Bowles to coach secondary (AP)

Former Dolphins interim coach Todd Bowles has been hired to coach the Philadelphia Eagles' secondary. Bowles, a 12-year NFL coaching veteran, was 2-1 as Miami's head coach after Tony Sparano was fired. He replaces Johnny Lynn in Philadelphia. The move was announced Monday. Bowles previously served as the Dolphins assistant head coach/secondary for three seasons (2008-11).
