Eagles Fans, your starting right tackle - Winston Justice?!?!?!?

Imagine this scenario.....

It's the first regular season game at Lincoln Financial Field, the announcer is calling out the starters. He begins calling out the starting offensive linemen, he makes his way to the right tackle position and instead of calling out Shawn Andrews who everyone has assumed to this point would be the starter at that position, he calls out a name that makes you quiver, a name that inspires fear in all Eagles fans  - young and old alike.

"And now Eagles fans your starting right tackle - Winston Justice!?!?!?!"

Not possible? Unfathomable maybe? But it might just be the case when the doors open for the regular season at the Linc.

See the thought of Justice starting the season never entered my head - not for a second. Then I went onto EaglesRumors.com and a pole was posted asking how many games Shawn Andrews will actually start this season. Then I read on and realized how bad Andrew's situation was, I was in shock. Because I assumed, just as most did, that Andrews problems were all solved. That he was perfectly healthy and ready to prepare for the 2009 regular season.

More and more training camp practices pass by and more and more practices Shawn Andrews completely sits out. He isn't even on the field in Lehigh doing rehab work. The situation has to be extreme because Andrews couldn't even run out onto the field last Sunday night at Flight Night. It was reported that the bus ride from Lehigh aggravated his injury even more so that he could barely walk.

This simply cannot be good when this offensive line was just revamped and needs the proper time to work together in order to get to know one another's tendencies.

Head Coach Andy Reid stated earlier today that he believes that the injury is simply related to the muscles in Andrews back and not a slipped disk problem - which would really give reason for panic. It should only be a matter of time before we know whether or not if Shawn Andrews will be able to start the beginning of the Eagles season at right tackle. With so much new blood on the offensive line, it would be crucial for a Pro Bowl player like Andrews, who happens to already be acclimated with the Eagles offense, to be on the field for the start of the 2009 season. If not it will be yet another hit the Eagles team would take in training camp, making you wonder how many more hits are yet to come?

On a good note - Brian Westbrook was on the field doing some rehab work and a few catching drills while Andy Reid there was watching closely. Brian Westbrook looked very good for a player who hadn't really done much work since he was recovering from surgery. If his recovery continues to be ahead of schedule like this then you better believe that there's no doubt that he will be ready for the start of the season.

If Westbrook isn't ready to start then the eventual eire to his thrown - LeSean "Shady" McCoy will be ready. Shady continues to do his job, impressing coaches and media members alike during training camp.
