23rd in Owners’ Standings…Despite posting a 23rd-place finish at Kentucky Speedway, Eric McClure remains 23rd in the NASCAR Owner standings. They now sit 36 points outside of the top-20. McClure Looks to be Special Again at DIS… Four months ago, in the season-opener at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, McClure captured his career-best finish of 8th, and he looks to have a similar result this weekend. “I feel like we will be very competitive in the race; we usually have good race cars at the plate tracks. The key is to not be in the wrong place at the wrong time, like at Talladega earlier this year. But there’s not much you can do about it. We were special in February and I believe we can be this weekend as well.” Daytona Fast Facts…The upcoming Subway Firecracker 250 will mark his 215th-career Nationwide Series start and his 15th at the historic track. In 14 starts, the Virginia driver has completed 89.2% of the total laps attempted (1556) and has been running at the end of 12 events. Furthermore, McClure has occupied the number one position in the running order three separate times at the speedway. Chassis No. 16…In Friday night’s Subway Firecracker 250, McClure will pilot chassis No. 16 out of the TriStar Motorsports stable. This chassis has been used twice this season and has a best finish of 8th (Daytona-February). The chassis was last used at Talladega Superspeedway where McClure posted a 23rd-place finish after being involved in a late-race accident. -Hefty Reynolds Racing PR
