Eric Staal to sit with upper-body injury

Sporting News staff reports Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Staal is expected to miss a few games because of an upper body injury suffered Sunday against the San Jose Sharks. The injury will end a streak of 349 consecutive regular-season games played for Staal. "When things go wrong, they go wrong," Rutherford told The News & Observer of Raleigh, N,C, "All teams have to deal with injuries. We have enough players to step up but we'll have to do it with confidence at an all-time low." Carolina is on a nine-game losing streak.
