Boston Bruins Carl Soderberg cleared to play

Through the first seven games of the season, head coach Claude Julien has had twelve available forwards. Going into tonight’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team will have thirteen available forwards. Carl Soderberg has been cleared to play, making the decision for Coach Julien a more difficult task. Julien told reporters at the pre-game skate this morning, ...

Shawn Thornton Notches First Goal of Season to Close Out Successful Florida Sweep (Video)

The Bruins saw contributions from all four lines on Saturday night, with some unlikely players getting in on the scoring action. While the eventful game included three fights, Shawn Thornton wasn’t a part of any of the confrontations, but in a rare change of pace, he instead added to the Bruins’ season-high for goals. During the third period, Thornton launched a shot from the...

David Krejci Punches in Early Goal Against Lightning, Whole Team Contributes to Tally (Video)

The Bruins didn’t waste any time on Saturday night as they got on the board early against the Lightning. Tuukka Rask started the scoring opportunity with a toe save, deflecting the shot to the wing. Milan Lucic took over from there, carrying the puck up the ice before dropping it off to David Krejci who recorded the tally just a minute and a half into the game. Check out the early...

Hamilton makes a splash in return to D rotation

Dougie Hamilton certainly knew how to respond when he climbed back into the Bruins lineup. At the mercy of the Bruins coaching staff attempting to rotate seven healthy defensemen all capable of playing at a high level the 20-year-old had been scratched in two straight games leading into Thursday night’s game against the Florida Panthers. Claude Julien inserted Hamilton back into...

Dougie Hamilton Scores His First Goal of Season as Bruins Defeat Panthers 3-2 (Video)

Dougie Hamilton scored his first goal of the season on Thursday night as the Boston Bruins defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2. The 20-year-old defenseman blasted a powerful shot from just inside the blue line that beat former Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas, which gave Boston a 2-0 lead at the time. Zdeno Chara provided a great screen in front of Thomas at the top of the crease. Watch...

Top NHL Teams Battle On Ice

The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Boston Bruins in this week's featured National Hockey League game of the week. This game is a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Finals series, which Boston won, and these are still two of the best teams in the NHL. Boston returns the core of a team that has made the Stanley Cup finals two of the last three years. But a game six loss...

3 Keys to a Better B's Offense

A lot has been made of Boston's slow start to the season offensively, and some fans are starting to freak out. Expectations were high, and many of the Bruins faithful were probably a bit overly optimistic in expecting this team to put up huge numbers from the get-go. I am here to tell you to just be patient and relax. I mean at least we aren't the Flyers, am I right? There...

Sunset in Sunrise. BRUINS WIN!

Man, the Bruins almost blew that one huh. Apparently if teams want a shot at beating Boston, the only thing you need to do is spot them a 2 goal lead at some point because they're sure to blow it and fight for their lives. It is inevitably bound to happen. I mean, whenever Boston takes a two goal lead, I have to tweet this out:  THE DREADED 2 GOAL LEAD — PezDOY©...

Berkshire Bank Rewind: Daniel Paille Protects the Puck and Scores on Tim Thomas (Video)

The Boston Bruins opened up a 1-0 lead in the first period of Thursday’s game against the Florida Panthers with great awareness from defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and a strong move to the net by Daniel Paille. As Seidenberg skates through the neutral zone, he notices that Panthers defenseman Erik Gudbranson doesn’t have his stick in the right position, so he makes a pinpoint pass...

After loss, Thomas says no grudges or regrets

Tim Thomas didn’t want to speak prior to the game Thursday presumably to stay focused on the task at hand of playing his former teammates with the Bruins. Though Thomas didn’t end up reaching his goal of beating his old team in a 3-2 loss when a Reilly Smith shot squirted through his leg pads with 59 seconds remaining in the third period the 39-year-old still managed to acquit...

Daniel Paille Embarking on Four-Year Anniversary With Bruins, Continues to Work on ‘Maturity on the Ice’ (Video)

On Oct. 20, 2009, Daniel Paille was traded to the Bruins from the Buffalo Sabres. Coming up on his fourth year with the B’s, the winger reflected on his player development since coming over in the trade, remarking that his maturity on the ice is something he consistently works to improve. In addition, Paille said he tries to fulfill the role that is needed of him on the ice. Coming...

Tim Thomas Finds New Way to Bail Out Bruins in First Meeting Against Former Team

There were many times during his time with the Bruins that Tim Thomas stood on his head and bailed the team out on an off-night by playing out of his mind. It’s one of the reasons he was one of the best goalies in the NHL at one point. The now ex-Bruin, who probably has pretty strong feelings about bailouts of a different kind, bailed out his former team once more Thursday night...
