With rumors of various drug use in the NFL swirling once again, there’s a new discussion around the league: Viagra and ExtenZe, two supplements that are used by those with erectile dysfunction. Why, you ask? Well, according to Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall, players have gone to the extent to use Viagra to put out a better product not just with their spouse, but also on the football field. “I know guys, it’s such a competitive league, and guys try anything just to get that edge. . I’ve heard of guys using Viagra, seriously, because the blood, it’s supposed to thin. . I don’t know. Some crazy stuff. It’s kind of scary with some of these chemicals that are in some of these things, so you have to be careful,” Marshall said. Bears WR Brandon Marshall said that he’s seen players who will do anything to get an edge, even use Viagra. Luckily for those players using Viagra, the substance is not banned by the league, NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello confirmed on Wednesday with no further comment. However, another medicine similar to Viagra is banned by the NFL and in many other sports: ExtenZe. Remember those terrible commercials that former-NFL head coach Jimmy Johnson used to be in? Yeah? Well, that would be ExtenZe, a non-prescription male enhancement supplement. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the supplement is banned by the NFL and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for containing the steroid Dehydroepiandrosterone. So if you’re going to be the next Vince Papale and walk into the NFL, be sure to layoff the ExtenZe. Maybe players will eventually turn the blame for their drug-related suspensions onto ExtenZe, instead of Adderall. Or, maybe, that would be just a bit too embarrassing for men in the prime years of their life to admit. It’s an option, though.   Follow us on Twitter @DownandDistance Down and Distance Columnist - Christian Hardy @TheFFaddictThe post ExtenZe Banned by NFL, Viagra is not appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.
