EZ- you are RIGHT!. We have to lose. GENO SMITH -WV #1 pick.

Posted December 09, 2012

If we are going into next season without Vick I suggest the Eagles take a long hard look at Geno Smith.  I watchwed about 100 plays and this guy reminds me of Randall Cunningham.  He chooses to pass first.  has a tremendous arm and can make all the throws, hangs in the pocket and has excellent vision.  I dont know who said their arent any marquee QBs out there but this guy is the one.  The Eagles need to lose and hope the Chiefs win.   The answer is Geno Smith.

  • There is no way the Eagles get the number one pick, because the Chiefs are just awful. Besides Foles has done enough to at least get the opportunity to be the guy next season.
  • So far Foles has been improving every week and that is what you want to see as an Eagles fan. I was kind of hoping Maclin wouldn't come up with the catch for the win but of course was excited to see Foles drive the team down the field. We do have to remember that the Bucs have the 32nd ranked defense against the pass but Foles did what we hoped he could...shred them up. He made some mistakes but as long as he continues to improve overall there is no reason not to believe that the Eagles made a good choice. Love the way he steps up in the pocket and it's also nice to see him throw away the ball at times.
  • He has certainly earned a chance to be the guy next season. He's doing it with undrafted rookies, 7th round picks and a patchwork offensive line. 4th game a comeback win and that's not easy to come by.
  • You're probably right unless the Eagles either get lucky with another draft pick or there is some young up and comer in free agency (or trade) that no one knows about. As long as Foles continues to play well I will have no problem with them going with him as their starter next year but I'm not going to state that it's set in stone and if the Eagles don't want to possibly be turned down by potential coaches they shouldn't either in my opinion.
  • Well I'm sure Reid will play the Foles card to try and keep his job. All I know is I liked what I saw today. It wasn't
like the Kolb games when he put up those numbers. The game was on the line and the kid produced plus he put up numbers. In a city where people have been calling out coaches/players for choking and this kid doing what he did in an away game was quite an accomplishment.
  • I'm hoping that Lurie doesn't play the Foles card and think and say that Reid is developing the kid and they deserve Reid's last year of his contract to see what the two of them can do. Didinger still thinks it's too late and even an Eagle's winning straek here shouldn't be enough...unfortunately the decision on Reid's Eagle's career isn't up to Ray Didinger.
  • thats exactly what they are doing. And the bucs laid down
  • You don't know that. Actually if your sure than it is probably a lock they get rid of Reid at the end of the year. Why would you type that the Bucs laid down (which they didn't but the pass defense sucks)? Foles did a good job and I understand the skepticism...I'll just never understand why you want certain Eagles players to fail.
  • I can't see how he comes back. How many chances can
    one man keep getting?
  • Casey Matthews dreaming.
  • Geno Smith will be garbage.
  • Ok. Goof ball. Before you run your mouth check out the throws he makes. The ones Foles cant. You love to think you have agreat QB in Foles with that vanilla offense but the games are sub playoff calibur. Foles hasnt seen a hard hitting game yet.
  • I have watched him plenty of times actually. He overthrows so many simple throws. And there's a difference between running a "vanilla offense" and playing to your strengths. Foles, at 6'6 can actually see over his line and his balls won't be batted down so they run more short quick passes than when they had Vick in there. Same goes for the WR screen.
  • Im talking about Geno Smith. Man are you bizarre
  • My comment was in response to you calling the Eagles' offense vanilla and I was just using Vick as an example. And yes, I am quite bizarre.
  • Really? wow if you were the Eagles GM you would run this franchise into the ground. Nobody in this draft is a sure fire pick. So your willing to rebuild your team around Geno Smith? LOL.
  • Now I understand why Lurie force feeds Eagles fans. He can shove any kind of garbage down their throats and they say it tastes good. This is funny.
  • ST NICK ALL THE WAY!! Can't wait to pick up key defensive players in the draft, bowe or Jennings in the off season then… SUPERBOWLLLLL
  • smih got all the pistures and the media love hime but he is a sefish ballplayes such as vince young and will bust in the nfl
  • Fundamental breakdowns and turnovers equals bad coaching. Bye Reid.

  • I guess there was a reason for Bryce Brown not being used as RB in college. Fumble fumble fumble fumble... refused to grab the ball hoping to avoid the hits that were coming.

  • Eagles are so bad its not ven funny. And the answer is dont pay Patterson. Joke.
  • Hollywood I was watching your boy today. I have to say I wasn't all that impressed with him.
  • Who cares about a no name bowl game . We wont have a shot at him anyway. He is going to KC. I think Vick might win today and stay on a restructured contract. I sure hope so because next season could be real painful. Teams dont "rebuild" anymore. NFL player lifespan too short and the fans in big markets demand more. I do nt care who coaches if Eagles throw garbage on the field with no effort the stadium will empty out again.
  • Lots of work needs to be done, but fans understand how bad Reid has made this team. No Reid and Vick and I can deal with a few more lean years.
