The Atlanta Hawks got off to a hot start this season, but have slowly come back down earth.  To make matters worse, after a 3-8 start to 2013, the Hawks have now lost "Sweet" Lou Williams for the season after he suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.  Lou Williams was the Hawks third leading scorer this season and they will now rely on Devin Harris (26% owned Yahoo), John Jenkins (0%) and DeShawn Stevenson (1%).  You should NOT head that direction.  If I were you (and I am because I lost Lou in one league) and you wanted to go down the path less traveled, I would look to add Knicks guard Iman Shumpert (14%).Shump returned during the Knicks trip to London to play the Detroit Pistons and he looked healthy and still had that same intensity and fire while playing on both ends of the ball.  Shumpert may not give you the same scoring that Lou Williams was capable of, but Shump can add rebounds, assists, and steals like Sweet Lou gave.  He will be playing limited minutes for the next week or so, but once Iman proves he is ready for 30 minutes of action, there is no doubt he will get it.The Hornets Al-Farouq Aminu (28%) has finally picked up his level of play and is giving owners the hope of a double double every time he steps on the court.  He is shooting 48% in January compared to 41% in December which has raised his points per game up to almost 8 this month.  It may not sound like much but when you add 8 rebounds a night as well as 1.5 steals and you have a guy who can really help your roster.  Four times this month Aminu has reached double digits in points and six times in rebounds including a stretch of 5 straight games.I don't know why you guys refuse to add Ed Davis (38%) to your teams, but the Raptor is just killing it right now.  Davis is dropping 14 points on a nightly basis and has upped his rebound to over 8 per game and is seeing 34 minutes per game!  Get him on your team ASAP.It seems that the return of Dirk Nowitzki has awaken Elton Brand (56%).  Brand has seen double digits in scoring the last 5 games as well as two double doubles.Points to AddElton Brand - PF, C Mavericks (56%) Ramon Sessions - PG, SG Bobcats (52%)Vince Carter - SG, SF Mavericks (50%) Luke Ridnour - PG, SG Timberwolves (48%)Ed Davis - PF, C Raptors (38%) Carlos Delfino - SG, SF Rockets (24%)Alan Anderson - SG, SF Raptors (16%)Earl Clark - SF, PF Lakers (12%) Rebounds to AddElton Brand - PF, C Mavericks (56%) Emeka Okafor - C Wizards (55%) Ed Davis - PF, C Raptors (38%) Tiago Splitter - C Spurs (28%) Al-Farouq Aminu - SF Hornets (28%)Tyler Zeller - PF, C Cavaliers (16%) Jared Sullinger - PF Celtics (15%) Landry Fields - SG, SF Raptors (7%)3pts to AddMatt Barnes - SF Clippers (54%) Vince Carter - SG, SF Mavericks (50%) Kyle Korver - SG, SF Hawks (50%)Mike Dunleavy - SG, SF Bucks (43%)Randy Foye - PG, SG Jazz (38%) Carlos Delfino - SG, SF Rockets (24%)Alan Anderson - SG, SF Raptors (16%) Assists to AddIsaiah Thomas - PG Kings (58%) Jarrett Jack - PG SG Warriors (57%)Ramon Sessions - PG, SG Bobcats (52%)Andre Miller - PG, SG Nuggets (50%)Luke Ridnour - PG, SG Timberwolves (48%)

Injury bug bites reeling Hawks roster

ATLANTA When Larry Drew returned to his office Saturday night, walking in from a short media session following his team's eighth loss in 10 games, his general manager, Danny Ferry, was waiting with one leg crossed over the other on his couch. Safe to say, the Hawks head coach and general manager needed to have a discussion. Following their team's 98-93 loss to the San...

The already shorthanded Atlanta Hawks will be without Devin Harris on Monday. Harris sprained his ankle in the Hawks' last game. The Hawks say (via Twitter) that rookie shooting guard John Jenkins will get his first career start. Jenkins is having a quiet first year: 4.3 points, 1.1 rebounds, .5 assists, .1 steals and .2 blocks with 17 3-pointers made in 11.2 minutes per game...

Hawks overcome 18-point deficit to win

ATLANTA - The staff at Philips Arena rushed to the court with a stretcher after the first quarter to aid the Atlanta Hawks' dunking mascot Sky Hawk, who got a little too wild on one of his signature moves. He was able to exit under his own power. But that pretty much summed up the situation for the Hawks and the Minnesota Timberwolves, two banged up teams that each had to sign...
