When the news broke that Running back Trent Richardson had been traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Indianapolis Colts, his value skyrocketed. He turned into an untradeable running back that owners believed would lead their fantasy teams to the Promised Land. However, Trent Richardson has been nothing but a disappointment as he has rushed for only 256 yards as a member of the Colts. Now is his time to shine, bust out in a big game and the perfect stage to do it is on Monday night football against the San Diego Chargers. Richardson will have the opportunity, as he has had three weeks to learn the playbook and his backup running back Ahmad Bradshaw is out for the year with a neck injury. Bradshaw’s first game after the Richardson trade occurred resulted in 95 yards rushing and a touchdown, but he had to have neck surgery following the week three win in San Francisco. Richardson must take advantage of being the sole running back for the Colts and must produce in fantasy or else he will likely be benched or traded in most fantasy leagues. Richardson had much success in Cleveland by running behind, Pro Bowlers Alex Mack (Center) and Joe Thomas (Left Tackle,) With the Center and Tackle pulling for the Bama back, Trent could find open running lanes where he can use his brute strength to find holes. Now in Indianapolis he no longer has these linemen to block for him and will have to relay on a shuffled line to open holes. Anthony Castonzo the Left Tackle who has protected Andrew Luck blindside for the past two years, has been the stabilizing force of the Colt’s line. And unlike in Cleveland, Richardson finally has a quarterback who can open up the play-action game and accurately check down field to the running back. I would trust Richardson as I predict he will go off this Monday night and return to the first round pick owners expected him to be.

Peyton Manning ready to stick it to Colts

The selection of Peyton Manning during the 1998 NFL Draft changed the path of the Indianapolis Colts organization. No one ever thought Peyton would leave Indianapolis. It became his home, his life. It was all Manning knew. To be pushed out the door wasn’t the right way to treat one of the greatest, if not the greatest, player to ever play in the NFL. We look at Peyton Manning...

Colts Nail A Flea Flicker Despite Trent Richardson’s Awful Toss

After the Chargers went offsides for a five yard penalty to kick off Monday Night Football against the Colts, Chuck Pagano called this little number.  The 35-yard completion to Reggie Wayne off the flea flicker was a great success despite Trent Richardson’s questionable toss back to Andrew Luck.  The play led to a drive capped off by an Indy field goal to put the Colts up 3-0...

Peyton Manning Told Jim Irsay He’d Be ‘Crazy’ Not to Take Andrew Luck in NFL Draft As Colts Looked to Part Ways

Things could have ended very badly, with a very bitter taste, for both Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Thanks to Andrew Luck, though — and a little career renaissance by Manning — both sides can head into this week’s Broncos-Colts contest saying they’re happy with the way it worked out. Colts owner Jim Irsay told Jarrett Bell of USA Today this week that, as the...

Practice Squad Watch: Colts OLB, Daniel Adongo

Not many outside die hard Colts fans may know about practice squad linebacker Daniel Adongo, but from my recent roster research of the squad, this former rugby player turned NFL pass rusher has the potential to be a force to be reckoned with. The 24 year old is listed as 6’5’’ and 257 pounds and […]

Double A Breakdown: Week 6 - Colts vs Chargers

The Indianapolis Colts will travel to San Diego to face the Chargers in what is Andrew Luck's Monday Night Football debut. The Colts are coming off a huge win against the Seahawks and are now on a 3 game winning streak. The Chargers are coming off a loss against the Raiders. Whenever the Colts play the Chargers, it always seems to be a close game, especially if the game is...

MNF Week 6: The Rise of Andrew Luck

Andrew Luck is a star. He was born to be a star and he was bred to be a star. Ever since he was a junior at Stanford, he’s been touted the next big star in the NFL. No, he didn’t win a Heisman like Robert Griffin III did. No, he never won a National Championship like Cam Newton did. But ask any NFL scout, GM or head coach, and they’ll tell you if they had to do the 2012 draft...

The Andrew Luck – Peyton Manning Situation Was a Win-Win For Everyone

This is Skip Bayless’ fault, so I hesitate to even speak on it because it is giving him the attention he wants, but for those of us who like to use common sense it is important people realize what is going on. The Indianapolis Colts gave up PEYTON MANNING for Andrew Luck? SERIOUSLY? — Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) October 15, 2013 It is a trolling tweet, but it forced Jim...

Eight myths surrounding Peyton Manning's departure from the Colts

The Indianapolis Colts cut Peyton Manning. A year and a half later, those words are still surprising. While both parties have fared well since parting ways, the move is still shrouded in misinformation and controversy. As Manning prepares to lead his Denver Broncos into Indianapolis next Sunday, now is the perfect time to revisit the fact and fiction of one of the most controversial...

LaRon Landry Ruled Out For MNF

Colts SS LaRon Landry (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 6 versus San DiegoFantasy Spin:We were expecting this as he didn't practice all week. Delano Howell will get another start. Facing a very hot Philip Rivers (three 400-yards passing days in the last four weeks), it would have been better to have everyone in the secondary healthy.

Luck to make MNF debut against Chargers

Andrew Luck won't need permission to stay up for the second half of "Monday Night Football." Luck will make his Monday night debut when he and the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts visit Philip Rivers and the enigmatic San Diego Chargers. It'll be a big deal for Luck, especially if the Colts (4-1) beat the Chargers (2-3).

Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers Preview and Prediction

The Indianapolis Colts will aim for a fourth straight victory tonight when they take on the San Diego Chargers at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN’s...

Colts drop ball, take a step back, in loss at San Diego on Monday Night Football

No sense trying to find colorful words to describe it. Put simply the Colts stunk Monday night. As is the case with any loss against a supposed inferior team there’s plenty of blame to go around after a 19-9 loss at San Diego on Monday Night Football. A bit of perspective before the quickie analysis: As much as this game was agonizing to watch trying to stomach an offense that...

Ownership of the West Coast - Colts Over Bolts!

Indianapolis Colts (4-1) @ San Diego Chargers (2-3)Spread & Total: Indianapolis Colts (-1) & (50.5)Play: Indianapolis Colts (-1)For starters, let me get this out of my system - THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON THE LINE ON THIS GAME ISN'T ANYWHERE FROM (-3.5) TO (-5.5)!!! Dominant Chargers Shock Colts on MNF

The game was billed as Andrew Luck's debut on Monday Night Football. Instead, it turned into San Diego's most balanced win of the season. Ryan Mathews ran for 102 yards and the defense kept the Colts out of the end zone as the Chargers scored a 19-9 win.
