Thanksgiving weekend is over. The fantasy trade deadline is over. The bye weeks are over. You’re probably about to have one of the last games (if not THE last game) of your season this weekend. Playoff implication and seeding are on the line (or you just love playing the role of spoiler). Also, starting this week, I’ll be making greater reference to players’ playoff schedules to help you in your decision making. Colin Kaepernick has been terrific in two starts. He’s an intriguing add for the fantasy football playoffs. (Image credit: US Presswire via Yahoo) Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups Colin Kaepernick, QB, SF (Yahoo! 36%, FOX 16%) With all the QB issues, Kaepernick will decide a lot of seasons. Following his tremendous performance against the Bears, Kaepernick once again got the keys the the family car last weekend. He did not disappoint. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown, with 27 yards and a score on the ground. I would go so far as to call him a discount brand RGIII. Throw in the fact he faces Miami and New England in the fantasy postseason (he does have to go to Seattle after though), and you’re looking at 20 point potential every week. He should be owned, and starting, in all formats. Knowshon Moreno, RB, DEN (Yahoo! 21%, FOX 5.1%) When Willis McGahee went down for the season, everyone (myself included) threw all their attention on Ronnie Hillman. We were all wrong. Moreno got the start and finished with 111 total yards. This week the Broncos play Tampa Bay, which isn’t the ideal match-up for Moreno. He’s still worth a FLEX play and maybe an RB2 considering how thin the position is. Moreno’s value comes at playoff time. For the same reasons I told you all year to get the Denver D/ST, they have the finest fantasy playoff schedule going (@ Oak, @ Bal, Cle). David Wilson, RB, NYG (Yahoo! 15%, FOX 15.9%) Andre Brown has been placed on Injured Reserve and will be out for the rest of 2012. Brown had been a great, unheralded RB all year as he would spell Ahmad Bradshaw (who despite being a perfect combination of WWF wrestler names from 1996, is as durable as a Faberge egg). This means he’s looking at around 10 touches per game, likely some goalline work, and the potential to start should Bradshaw get hurt. While I don’t recommend starting him against Washington, next weekend he faces the Saints. that match-up alone could swing the first round in your favor. Cole Beasley, WR, DAL (Yahoo! 0%, FOX 0.1%) Look at that ownership! I’m about to really stick my neck out, but I believe Beasley’s value could match that of a Randall Cobb/Wes Welker next season. The similarities are there obviously, as Beasley plays the slot. He has great hands, good speed, and runs tremendous routes. He also had a coming out party last week with 13 targets, seven receptions and 68 yards against Washington (let’s take a moment and acknowledge how crazy it is to have a team named the Redskins in 2012). The value of Beasley hinges largely on the health of Miles Austin. If his hip isn’t ready, look for a huge game from Beasley. Philly has surrendered the 10th-most fantasy points to WRs over the past five weeks. I also love that should you make it to the fantasy finals, Dallas has the brutal New Orleans defense to take advantage of. He could be a bust for this season, but the upside is worth a roster spot. Dennis Pitta, TE, BAL (Yahoo! 26%, FOX 20.8%) Pitta has been really annoying to own this season. At the start of the year, Pitta was a top-ten TE without question. After three games, he disappeared until Week 10. Since then, he’s on top of the world again. In his last two games (I’m excluding Week 11, where he got hurt), Pitta has caught 11 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. That adds up to nearly 23 fantasy points. Considering the Ravens’ recent success, I look for Flacco to stick with the hot hand and for Pitta to finally be worth what we initially thought. Flacco is so much better at home, than away, that you have to adjust accordingly each week, this also helps Pitta’s case as three of the next four games they play in Baltimore (Pit, @ Wsh, Den, NYG) The post Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups & Advice appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
