The father of Reuben Foster, the five-star linebacker who infamously got a tattoo of the Auburn logo on his leg before eventually signing with arch-rival Alabama on National Signing Day, was apprehended by authorities in Miami on Friday after spending over 16 years on the run for allegedly shooting the younger Foster and his mother in 1996.Danny Foster, father of University of Alabama football signee Reuben Foster and a longtime fugitive out of Randolph (Ala.) County, was captured in Miami this morning, authorities said. The U.S. Marshals, the Roanoke Police Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced the 11 a.m. arrest of Foster, who has been on the run since 1996. Foster was wanted for assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and escape, according to a press release issued today by the U.S. Marshals."Foster had been on the run for a while now, and this investigation to apprehend him is an example of what can result when tenacious investigators from different agencies work together to get a violent offender behind bars,'' U.S. Marshal Arthur Baylor of Alabama's Middle District, said in a prepared statement."Foster broke out of the Randolph County jail in December 1996. He was charged with shooting estranged wife, Inita Berry Paige, and their 18-month-old son, Reuben.Via Alabama.com
