The 49ers entered this training camp looking for a starting
quarterback. The two players that would be in the middle of this
competition is former #1 overall draft pick Alex Smith and last year's
starter Shaun Hill.
Hill finished with a tremendous record and his play helped secure Mike Singletary's job as a full-time head coach. But with the team starting from scratch at the position, the training camp battle of these two players has been watched under a microscope.
A part of me wants Shaun Hill to continue his success and remain a starter. I liked what he did last year and from what we've seen so far in training camp, he has done very well in completing the short passes.
