The 2013 Home Run Derby came and went last night at Citi Field and, once again, it was a pretty underwhelming event overall. The competition has gotten pretty stale in the past handful of years and has become one of the most overrated events in all of sports, right up there with the NBA Slam Dunk Content. Barring an unhuman performance from a competitor (a la Josh Hamilton), the Derby has pretty much become a chore to get through.
