Florida State moved up two spots in the Associated Press poll to No. 8 on Sunday afternoon. The Seminoles racked up 617 total yards -- including 377 rushing yards -- in a 62-7 thrashing of Nevada. Miami and Florida both slid a spot despite having a bye week. The Hurricanes dropped to No. 16, while Florida fell to No. 19. The Hurricanes will play host to Savannah State at 7 p.m. on Saturday, while the Gators will play host to Tennessee on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Central Florida improved to 3-0 with a 34-31 road win on Saturday at Penn State. Blake Bortles threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns, an impressive showing the garnered the Knights 25 votes in the AP poll. But they still have some ground to catch on No. 25 Texas Tech, which had 60 points. Alabama remains the No. 1 team after a 49-42 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday. Oregon is No. 2, followed by Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford. The USA TODAY coaches poll will be released later Sunday. Contact Bob Ferrante at bobferrante17@gmail.com or on Twitter @bobferrante.
