On Monday evening, Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino picked up his fifth commitment within a 48-hour period.
Javonte Bagley, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver from Vero Beach, FL., has given Louisville a verbal pledge and intends to sign a national letter of intent with the school on Wednesday’s national signing day.
Louisville defensive backs coach Terrell Buckley played a key role in landing Bagley.
Bagley had previously been committed to Bowling Green. He is rated as a two-star recruit and has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Memphis, South Alabama, South Florida and Wake Forest.
This is just a hunch, but it appears that Petrino and his staff are trying to put the final pieces of the 2014 recruiting class together by pursuing guys who they appear to be better than advertised. Bagley isn’t as highly regarded as some of Louisville’s over commitments, but the coaching staff obviously thinks a lot of him.
