State of the Cowboys: Week 10

After each game, this feature will analyze several aspects of the Oklahoma State football team. Each category will either rise (+1), fall (-1) or stay even (0). Each change is based on the Cowboys performance last week. The count began after the Cowboys’ loss against Arizona -- that calibrated the chart (considering we didn’t learn much from the Savannah State blowout).

Todd Monken: We'll Be Looking For Balance

When the Oklahoma State Cowboys rolled over Oklahoma 38-28 on Lewis Field back in 2002, then wide receivers coach Todd Monken was beside himself. He couldn't believe the Cowboys had not only beaten Oklahoma but offensively they dominated the Sooners, primarily because Rashaun Woods, the player he coached could not be stopped. Heck, the joke then and now is that Woods is still open.

Bedlam: Can Cowboys Run Over Sooners?

We'll have our usual matchups and predictions later in the week, but the interesting matchup the last several years in Bedlam has been the Oklahoma defense and the Oklahoma State offense. That matchup is again very intriging. This season Oklahoma State has had to dial up changes in its offense week to week while Oklahoma has been using a different personnel solution to Big 12 offenses.

No. 21 Oklahoma St. 96, Texas-Pan American 42

Liz Donohoe scored 19 points, leading seven Oklahoma State players in double figures, and the 21st-ranked Cowgirls rolled past Texas-Pan American 96-42 Tuesday night. Donohoe made 8 of 9 shots, including both 3-point tries, and led the Cowgirls (4-0) with nine rebounds. Tiffany Bias scored 15 points, Toni Young scored 13 and Brittney Martin and LaShawn Jones had 12 points apiece...

Can Bill Young, Cowboys Make It Two In A Row?

"I was 19 or 20 years old and it was pretty special because Oklahoma State had not beaten Oklahoma in my lifetime up to that point," said current Oklahoma State Cowboys defensive coordinator Bill Young on playing for the Cowboys teams in 1965 and 1966 that beat OU. The 1965 win was in Norman.

THE DAY AFTER: Oklahoma State

Here are some final thoughts and observations from NC State's 76-56 loss to Oklahoma State.

GoPokes TV: Jeremy Smith

Oklahoma State's Jeremy Smith and Joseph Randle both rushed for more than 100 yards in last year's 44-10 victory over Oklahoma. Will the Cowboys try to run it right at the Sooners on Saturday? Are the Cowboys looking forward to playing in Norman for the first time in three years? Are they surprise by the play of Clint Chelf? Those are just a few of the questions that Smith...

GoPokes TV: Quinn Sharp

Oklahoma State kicking specialist Quinn Sharp is one of the best in all of college football. But he'll be kicking off the grass on Saturday at OU's Memorial Stadium instead of Field Turf. Will it make a difference? Can OSU's special teams come up with the big plays against the Sooners like they have in recent weeks? Sharp offers his insight in this video.

GoPokes TV: Lane Taylor

Oklahoma State had the nation's 18th-best rushing offense (averaging better than 216 yards per game), and senior guard Lane Taylor is one reason for that. Oklahoma's defense is allowing more than 185 rushing yards per game (87th in the nation). Taylor shares his thoughts on the Sooners and his final Bedlam game in this GoPokes TV interview.

GoPokes TV: Who Will Be King Of Oklahoma?

Former Oklahoma State standout defensive end Richetti Jones is still on a high from the Cowboys beat down of the OU Sooners a year ago en route to capturing the Big 12 title. Mostella signs early

Oklahoma State picks up a quality signee in Detrick Mostella.

Bedlam: Key Matchups & Prediction

Every time Oklahoma State is in this situation, I ask myself, 'Can we really be back at Bedlam football again and did I use the last year as much as I would like to stick it to my friends (of which there are few) that are Sooner fans?' The concern is to enjoy it while you can because it won't last long. That said, I like the chances for bragging rights for the next year...
