Sometimes you just have to take your L and keep it moving. At the end of the day in a one and done situation the better team is the one who has the most points when the clock strike zero. The 49ers have been making excuses since the game has been over. “I just feel like we [were] the better team. They got away with one today. We showed we were the better team. It was just a couple plays here, a couple plays there.” “I think we’re the better team,” Gore said. “[I'm] just happy the way we kept fighting. Any other team probably would’ve just laid down, and we let people know what type of guys we’ve got in the locker room, type of warriors we are. It just didn’t happen for us today.” I understand what Gore is trying to say, but he didn’t articulate it well. The 49ers had a lot of self inflected wounds, but what happens when you have a wounded opponent? You go in for the kill and that is why Ravens are dancing with the Lombardi Trophy right now.

Vote: Should Jimmy Smith Have Been Called for Holding Michael Crabtree on 49ers’ Final Play?

Football games are a collection of plays, a whole bunch of them, that all unfold over the course of the 60 minutes they’re played in. However, we’re usually left second-guessing or questioning one or two of those when the game is over. This year’s Super Bowl was no different, with the play in question being the 49ers’ final offensive play. Facing a fourth-and-5 from the Ravens’...

Delanie Walker destroyed Jacoby Jones with hit

San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker had a very good game, particularly with his blocking and tackling on special teams.  After Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones opened the second half with a kick returner, Walker made sure that wasn’t going to happen again.  He absolutely leveled Jones on this return to keep him from making a big play.Related: Cary Williams...

Super Bowl 47 – Ravens vs. 49ers Pick Against the Spread

BALTIMORE RAVENS VS. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-3.5) The Super Bowl is finally here. I’m just thrilled to not have to watch the Patriots, Giants, or Steelers (all the teams that I cannot stand) again who seemed to have played in 8 of the last 10 Super Bowls collectively. This year I have two teams that I would want to see win the Super Bowl. That hasn’t happened since the Saints faced...

Jim Harbaugh doesn’t like his play calling at the end of the Super Bowl

The 49ers had the ball six yards out of the end zone under with touchdown to them the lead with under three minutes left in the game. And as we all know by now, they swung an missed four straight times, giving the ball back to the Ravens, who hung on for the win. Sorry if that was like pouring salt into now-healing wounds for you, Niners fans. The Niners were only able to get one...

Time To Give Up Five Yards

Just Say No A day after the Super Bowl, it's clear that the world isn't ready to let go of the game, and that's to be expected, really. Football is America's religion now, and the fact that it vacates the premises for seven months while the feeder system is coast to coast and numbering in the thousands is a market inequity that will change in our lifetime... but...
