Frank Gore is set to enter the boxing ring on Saturday night, but 49ers fans will not have to worry about whether or not he will get injured.

The veteran back has joined the entourage of Nonito Donaire. Gore’s role will be one of high profile as he carries Donaire’s WBO super bantamweight belt into the ring, according to maxboxing.com, via Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

Donaire (28-1-0) is scheduled to fight Jeffrey Mathebula at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on Saturday night.
