Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, provided some insight on why they did not take on a rematch against Tim Bradley. According to BoxingScene.com, Roach actually wanted Pacquiao to face someone new. Pacquiao is to fight Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time this December.
As for why Team Pacquiao did not want a rematch against Tim Bradley, that is due to Bradley not being able to sell tickets. Roach would continue on to provide an explanation and said,
Bradley sold six tickets last time and he’ll sell less next time. That’s about the size of his audience. That’s why we are not fighting him, there’s no business. There is no money in that fight.
Freddie Roach is getting pretty good at talking a little smack. This is a major burn for Bradley’s camp who are probably fuming, but cannot really do much. Tim Bradley and his own trainer have been continously barking for Pacquiao to follow through with a rematch and even going to lengths to say that Pacquiao is scared. Bradley’s camp just cannot fathom the idea that no one wants to see that boring fight again. His name may have leveled up a few notches after beating Manny Pacquiao, but no one is interested in a rematch besides Tim Bradley and his trainer.
