Two of Charlie Strong’s class of 2013 signees still haven’t arrived to campus yet. Defensive back Donel Elam isn’t expected to make it, due to academic issues. Charlie Strong also said on Monday that the program is still waiting for Miami native Chucky Williams to be academically cleared.
Strong received some good news on Wednesday afternoon. Williams, a three star safety has been academically cleared and will report to Louisville on Friday. Mike Hughes of InsideTheVille.com spoke with Williams’ high school coach who confirmed the news.
With Calvin Pryor and Hakeem Smith returning, Louisville is already set at the safety position and I’m not sure exactly how much Williams play as a true freshman, but getting him cleared and on campus is huge. He’s one of the more underrated players in Charlie Strong’s 2013 class.
