TALLAHASSEE Coach Leonard Hamilton needed just a day to fill the opening for the assistant coaching job at Florida State.Florida State has hired Georgia Southern head coach Charlton Young as the Seminoles new assistant. Young, a native of Miami, was Georgia Southerns coach the past four seasons.He is an extremely knowledgeable basketball coach, a great skill developer and an outstanding recruiter, Hamilton said. Charlton is a great addition to our program because he complements our staff extremely well.Young, 41, was an assistant coach at Georgia Tech from 2006-09 before taking over at Georgia Southern, which went 14-19 last season. He has also been an assistant at Northwestern and Auburn.He replaces Corey Williams, who was named Stetsons head coach on Monday.
